A lesser-known gem by Astor Piazzolla. 🪗

Our own version of Bandoneón, Guitarra y Bajo, performed live with amazing musicians:
Jan Portisch on double bass and Yujin Han on piano.

I love exploring some of Piazzolla’s music beyond the pieces everyone already knows — and giving it our own sound with improvisation.

Silence — Charlie Haden 🎵

Our version of this incredibly simple and beautiful composition by the jazz bass legend, performed with great @janpbass at @artpcgboston. 🪗🎶

Sometimes I feel like we could all use a little more silence. 🙂🕊️

Recital Alert 🚨
I like playing Duo and would love to do it more. So I set up a recital playing in different Duo formations, 1-2 songs with some of the heaviest cats I could find. It will be intimate and quiet and dream provoking, so you should bring all your friends.
If you‘ve never heard Bass+Voice, Bass+Congas, Bass+Guitar, Bass+Piano or Bass+Bass, you shouldn’t miss this magical evening.

🎶In spring an idea crossed my mind - recreating Astor Piazzolla's Tango Nuevo quintet with our own sound and some new ideas. The idea was proposed and presented to the Berklee Ensemble department together with the program and arrangements ideas and last semester it became a reality. There was a lot of hard work, practicing, preparing music/arrangements and rehearsals to put all of that together. I cannot express how grateful I am to be able to play with one of the finest people and musicians I know. 🎶

Thank you!!! 🙏❤️

Piano - Yujin Han
Violin - Analuna Chahine
Guitar - André Correa
Acoustic Bass - Jan Portisch

A big thanks also to our amazing mentor @anapetrovamusic

There are just no words I could describe of how much I loved all of this and what a great experience it has been. Hope you get a little bit of the feel from this video with some excerpts. It was hard to put my favourites in such a "short" video. 😀 From our first non-Berklee recital in @somervillemusicspaces
