Since 2017, just after pic one, I have been living with chronic neck problems, which I had always attributed to getting older, fearing that my days of riding park and taking hard landings were coming to an end. It wasn’t until I developed a paralysis in my left hand this spring, that I realised something else was wrong. Neurological testing concluded that all the issues I had had over the years did not come from the joints, but from my nerve root at C7/8 that was being both pinched in it’s passageway, and compressed by a bulging disc just underneath. I underwent surgery 11 days ago, the disc got removed, and the passageway reopened to give space. My shoulderpain was gone the same day, and my hand is slowly coming back to life. I’m incredibly excited knowing that my snowboarding still has some years left in it, thanks to a few brilliant medical workers. And if you’re still reading this soppy drivel, I want to thank everyone that’s been a part of my recovery, be it through physical presence or just sending me messages to wish me well. Thank you all. Today marks 20 years since befriending one of my favourite people on the planet. 20 years of laughs, tears, rides, beers. 20 years of being around when the other was struggling, and 20 years of celebrating the good times. 20 years of nerding out over snowboarding, snowboarders, and the glory days. 20 years of watching friends move away, all while yelling our catchphrase; ‘I ain’t f*ckin leaving!’ My brother, my colleague, my ridingbuddy, my shrink. Winter 2025 - 2026 firing up this Saturday 1st November in📍Verbier.
The Lac des Vaux area will open for weekends in November. The resort will stay open from the 29th November.
