Dreams come true! I am so thrilled to announce that I will be a Cast Vocalist on the Diamond Princess with Princess Cruises sailing all around Australia and Japan!
I’m so excited to spend the next eight months telling stories, singing songs all the while traveling the world! The past two months of rehearsals in Los Angeles have been a blast full of memories and so much growth in my craft which I am so grateful for! Many thanks to my family, friends, and the Diamond cast and supervisors for all the support as I begin this next exciting chapter of my life! Next stop: Brisbane! 🥳🛳️🇦🇺🇯🇵 taken in Princess Dance Studios by @jantzlevin

Dominica 🇩🇲 is my favorite port on this contract so far! We only ported twice in Roseau but I was blown away at how everyone was so incredibly nice and welcoming! On my first day someone at a shop told me that Dominica is the friendliest island! Though I have so many more islands in the world to explore I can definitely say there is a lot of truth in that being said!

By now, some of you may have gathered that my favorite port in Alaska was Whittier! But I’d be remiss if I didn’t give a special shoutout to the Anchor Inn in Whittier and explain why this place means so much to me. ⚓️

The Anchor Inn was the only place open in Whittier whenever our cruise ship arrived at midnight. It became a haven for crew members looking to get off the ship, enjoy some dry land, and have a place to unwind after being at sea.

The top floor was the bar, while the bottom floor was a restaurant. Come shore leave, countless crew members would get off the ship and make their way to the only open establishment in town to eat, drink, dance, and enjoy every minute of our time ashore. 🕺🍻

And then there was Beverly, our amazing bartender who was always so kind and caring to us crew members every time we came to Whittier. Every two weeks, I looked forward to going to the Anchor Inn and seeing her!

E and Marg, who worked in the restaurant and always helped out wherever they could, were also a huge part of what made the Anchor Inn feel so special.

The Anchor Inn holds so many incredible memories for me. When I look back on my season in Alaska, I know my time here will be one of the memories I remember most.

I wrote on a dollar bill the first time I went to the bar that the Anchor Inn is the best bar in the world! I stand by that! 🍻

Thank you for the memories, Whittier.

One of the highlights of my time in Alaska 🏔️ this summer was getting to visit the Whittier Seaman’s Mission every two weeks when the Grand Princess 🛳️ came into Whittier.

The Seaman’s Mission was started by Jeanette and Joe Seale in the 1980s. They discovered that they could share the Gospel with people from all over the world simply by staying in Alaska and reaching out to crew members who were on board the cruise ships that made port in Juneau, Whittier, and Seward.

In Whittier, Jeanette would board the Grand Princess and meet with the crew members who stayed on board, while Joe ran the Seaman’s Mission out of Begich Towers, a building where around 80% of Whittier’s residents live. 🏢

The mission in Begich Towers became a little haven for crew members. It offered fast Wi-Fi 📳, a place to relax, and even the ability to receive mail ✉️ through Joe. Whenever you got mail, it was like Christmas, and Joe would sing a Christmas carol before you opened your package! 🎄🎅

Every time I was in Whittier, I couldn’t help but stop by the mission and spend time talking with Joe, Pauline, Dan, and whoever else happened to be there that day.

What made the mission so special was that it didn’t matter whether you had faith, were a Christian, or believed something completely different. The mission was simply a welcoming place for crew members spending their contracts in Alaska.

I will never forget the kindness and the beautiful humanity I experienced there! Not only through the Seale’s and everyone who served at the mission, but also through the crew members who were so receptive to the work being done there.

On our last day in Whittier for the season, Joe told us that this would be the final year for the Whittier Seaman’s Mission after around 20 years of service.

I was heartbroken to hear the news, but at the same time, I felt incredibly honored to have had the opportunity to experience something so special before it was gone.

Some places leave an impression on you. Some people do too. The Whittier Seaman’s Mission, and the people I met there, will always be a special part of my time in Alaska.

As Alaska season comes to an end, I’m looking back on some of my favorite memories from my favorite port: Whittier! 🏔️

After nights at the Anchor Inn, @ricardrummer and I never missed our early morning hikes. Different people joined us along the way, and whenever the opportunity was there, I couldn’t resist doing a backflip off the swing set!

9 trips to Whittier this summer, and somehow I managed to backflip off this swing set 7 times. Thanks to @ricardrummer for documenting them all!

Here’s to good people and great memories!

I was fortunate enough to be able to see the sights of Misty Fjords National Monument just outside of Ketchikan, Alaska! The only ironic part was the Misty fjords were not misty at all! Instead it was a bright sunny day! This is strange for this region of Alaska which expects roughly 230 days of rain a year! Needless to say I felt blessed to see this national monument with the opposite kind of weather which gave the fjords its name!

Would you rather visit Misty Fjord National Monument on a sunny or cloudy day?

Glacial silt is made of tiny rock particles that have been ground down by the slow movement of a glacier. As a result, the particles supposedly make a great natural face exfoliant!

Would you give yourself a glacial facial?
