a big part styling is just manipulating how people perceive the human body.

1️⃣ proportions: where your clothes start and end changes how tall, short, wide, or narrow you appear.

2️⃣ visual weight: oversized pieces, textures, and accessories direct attention to different parts of an outfit.

3️⃣ contrast: pairing unexpected shapes, colours, and materials creates visual tension, which is often what makes an outfit interesting.

you can give two people the exact same clothes and end up with two completely different outfits just by changing how they’re worn.

the best styling advice i can give? stop asking whether two pieces match and start asking whether they create an interesting silhouette together.
