This decision didn’t come easily, but reflects my commitment to personal and professional growth—to pushing myself, embracing innovation, and creating even MORE value and education for the amazing clients and community I serve.

Change can be intimidating, and lord knows I struggle with it, but growth demands it. I’m grateful for every moment, person, and lesson at RE/MAX that shaped me into the agent I am today. Why is it that real estate clients (buyers and sellers) consistently feel like they’re “wasting” their real estate agent’s time? ⌚

Answer, because a majority of homeowners only buy and sell a few homes in their lifetime. Therefore, it’s an unfamiliar process and one that’s (unfortunately) not well documented online. 🤷🏻‍♀️

🎙️ Lesson 1 after my first full year in real estate?
👉 Assume. Nothing.

From buyers to sellers, every situation is layered.
❌ Don’t assume they’ve chosen you.
❌ Don’t assume they’re the decision-maker.
❌ Don’t assume you know their “why.”
✅ DO ask questions.
✅ DO listen more.
✅ DO stay curious.

Whether it’s their finances, timing, or motivation—it’s our job to learn, not guess.

💧 PSA: Water is absolutely going to try to get in your basement. Or maybe it already has, or maybe your sump pump is running around the clock every time it rains. Guess what? It shouldn’t have to be!

The fix for this I stg is likely less than $20.
It’s called a downspout extender. Look it up.

Without one, water runs straight off your roof, hits the ground next to your foundation, and just chills out there. Eventually, it’s gonna find a way in—cracks, weak spots, you name it. That’s how you end up with foundation damage, mold, and a wet, musty, gross basement.

Grading helps, and is very important too—your soil should slope away from the house. But even the best grade means nothing if your downspout is dumping water right at the base.

Ideally, you want your downspout to extend 6-8 feet away from your house on a downward slope. That alone can prevent literal thousands in water damage.

So, if your basement smells like the inside of a wet sneaker? Start with a quick trip to Home Depot before you call the waterproofing company.
