So for many people JapShow at SantaPod was a great day. For me, it’s going to be one of the most memorable days of my life.

I finally proposed to @jap__mel after 6 years!

Thank you to @fuelgoodgarage for inviting us to be on stand with them. They’re a good bunch of people with great cars!
Congratulations to @kswap_connor for winning the best engine bay award too! You should be proud of the hard work you’ve put in. ✌🏻
And a huge thank you to @adam_r2k for stumbling upon us while I was trying to take photos with the timer on my phone 🤣 we would not have been able to get the quality pictures we have!

So here it is!
Bit of a big write up, you’ve been warned 😂

After being parked up for nearly a year she’s finally back on the road! With a few “minor” changes.

First and foremost huge, huge, huge thank you to @konazoku for not only supplying the kit and many parts but also helping me through a great deal of the bodywork on the bumpers.

I have installed LS400 brake calipers, a lovely straight bolt on for this platform, freshly rebuilt too! Definitely something that should have been on the car from the factory.
Not only that but the entire rear subframe has been refreshed and polybushed.

Last but not least, myself and @jap__mel wrapped the car in @orafolvehiclewraps Luscious Lips (Red) which looks absolutely stunning in the sun. The biggest thank you to Mel for being there for me throughout my long days and nights across 6 months getting this car “done”, ready for the show season this year. (I couldn’t have done this without you 🥹)

I do plan to share everything I have done over the 6 months for anyone that is curious. Many photos and much to write up on. But that’s another day.

For now, enjoy the evolution of my Lexus GS300. ✌🏻

The last part of the phase 3 build write ups!
Wrapping time!
This was equally the most exciting, most stressful part of the build in all honesty. We needed to get the car clean then get all the trim pieces off; and the GS has a LOT of trim pieces. So removing all the trims took probably an entire day along with cleaning internal panels and “cleaning” the garage as much as we could.
We also discovered that the drivers side door, isn’t the original door, so that was fun to find out 🙃😂

Wrapping is a long process but when it goes well, my god it looks good.
We started with the roof and slowly worked round the sunroof. Once that was done we didn’t slow down there we flew through the bonnet, boot lid and moved onto measuring out the side profiles of the car. The “up and over” was a bit of a pain to do when tucking the wrap underneath the chrome trims (patience was very much tested here) but super satisfying when it went smoothly. The doors being flat panels were a nice practice for us “glassing” the wrap onto. Once the doors were done, it was onto the opposite side and same process again. Once the main bulk of the car was done it was just the many many trim pieces and side skirts which were done in the living room under the watchful eyes of Finley our Rabbit.

But I’ll be the first to say it, the wrap job myself and @jap__mel have done on the GS isn’t perfect, but it is only the 2nd full car we have wrapped 😅😂
Don’t get me wrong I’m super super happy with the outcome but I definitely want to go back and improve on some areas.

Later on if I decide to, I’ll point all the imperfections out in another post and hopefully improve on them in the future. But for now I just want to enjoy the car.

As for this little build series thank you to the people who sat through and read my waffle 😂
Hopefully I can do something like this again in the future but for now, I have a Wedding to afford so big projects on the cars will be on the back burner now 🥲
