C'mon baby Jaqi... time for more adventures. Some work, some fun. All good.

Don't let the glass slipper fool you. Cinderella cleaned that whole damn house before she put on that dress and danced all night 👠💎

A state-of-the-empire post. 🌹

For far too long I worked 10 jobs for one paycheck.

Now I'm learning what it feels like to work one. My own - and receive limitless abundance and possibility.

Thank you for continuing to follow my life as I transition from charter school CEO into full-time entrepreneurship, and leave the country roughly once a month.

Some of it has been rest. Some has been research. Some has been soul work.

All of it has been chosen. No longer chosen for me.

Here's where we've been. Here's where we're going.

Grateful you're here for the ride. 💕

Little Jaqi from the trailer park:
You drop out of high school then grow up to create one, after that you go on adventures you never would've imagined, baby girl.

This place I felt in my soul.

Cartagena doesn't greet you, she invites you to experience her and watches what you do with it.

Whatever you do - don't be a lame tourist, with some lame tourist agent, or some lame assistant booking your travel.

Connect to place with pure intention...dance with it. Have a love affair with it. Lay your heart bare.

In the color of the walls.

In the weight of the cobblestones.

In the hands of the Palenquera women
who crown you on the street
like they always knew you were coming.

In the best ceviche in the world.

In the movement of your hips.

In the sweetness of every fruit that touches your lips.

In the reading of Getsemaní painting resistance to gentrification in poems on walls.

In being surrounded by Mother Water.

In every bite of every arepa.

In the big smile when thinking about the Diosa artists from here:
Shakira. Karol G. Sofía Vergara. Jessie Reyez.

Colombia doesn't just produce women.
She produces forces that the world keeps their gaze on - Diosa fixation.

...I always notice places where my soul feels like it can expand.

Amo Cartagena. 🌺

I remember sitting here after walking around and being out all day.

I remember bougainvillea coming up in a session with my healer/mentor, teaching me to understand my medicine. This flower visits me all the time now. This time on pastry...

I remember how Columbian coffee makes you feel invincible.

I remember taking my sweaty hair down after it sat in a knot on top of my head all day. I remember telling myself to take more selfies and capture the moments..cherish this life. You are a mermaid princess, afterall.

I remember using my scarf like a rebozo, wrapping it around me because it's one of the ways I love myself and feel #biencozy

I remember home around my neck...thick turquoise, some of the chunkiest in the collection.

I remember Indigenous genius on my ears...beadwork.

I remember one time in a professional setting with education leaders saying "I don't wear jewelry, I wear protection and blessings made with magic." Smiling, because who knows what to do with that?

I remember loving my extra long nails wrapped around my phone to take a pic. I remember being judged by another school leader, who called them ghetto and not what a High School Principal should look like. It made me love them more and reminded me how I don't give a fuck.

I remember watching a woman work from this bakery - Zoom calls, full set up, multiple screens, unbothered, minding her business - it was her office, for that day anyway.... look how simple. She can do it, why not me?

Laptop, ear buds y internet - que mas quiere?

I remember thinking to myself:
"Oh yeah, I could do this. This is my new life."

UNLEARN. EVERYTHING. THEY. MADE. YOU. THINK. YOU. HAD. TO. BE.

You author your own story, Cabrona ✍️🏽

Women Are the Art 🌹

I walked through Cartagena during Semana Santa and everywhere I turned, there she was.

On every wall, in every doorway, propped against the old stone: women. Painted in marigold and cobalt, crowned in flowers, wrapped in the yellow, blue, and red of this land, eyes closed to the sun, faces lifted, unbothered and alive. An entire city that looks at a woman and sees something worth painting the walls for.

Because women are the art. Not the muse standing quietly to the side, but the masterpiece itself. The color. The composition. The thing the whole street stops to look at.

And the timing is not lost on me. I walked those streets during Holy Week, the sacred braid where the ancestors and the divine move together. And I share it now,in August, inside the single biggest window of my year, as Jupiter crosses my North Node and lights up my house of destiny. My soul's direction, blazing. Divine feminine, on divine time.

The Aztec calendar says we are living at the close of the Fifth Sun, the end of one great age and the birth of the next. And so many traditions that tracked this turning say the same of what rises: it belongs to her. The return of the sacred feminine. The mothers, walking back in wearing every color at once.

So look at her. Look at all of them. Alive, crowned, and finally seen.
Women are the art. And the world is now coming back around to it.

Valentine's Day 2026

Dear little Jaqi,

When you grow up, you're going to meet two women in the mountains. The universe brings you together through magic ✨️

There won't be a decision to make. You'll just know. From there forward, no matter what life does, no matter where any of you are living, you'll keep finding each other. You'll keep showing up.

Your first date will be Valentine's Day. In Florida.

Little Jaqi hear me on this: Valentine's Day does not have to mean waiting to be chosen by a man. Sometimes it means three chingona CEOs, three grown Latina women, choosing each other. Choosing rest. Choosing tea on a porch in pajamas like little grandmas. Choosing to sit and talk until the world outside stops mattering.

And then because we are still little girls too we'll put on our Disney ears and walk into the Magic Kingdom with the biggest smiles you've ever seen. Nothing about that will feel silly. It will feel like the most grown-up thing three women could do...remembering how to play.

One of them will name the group chat "brujas." You'll be floored — because it's exactly what you would have named it yourself.

And that chat will become one of the most sacred things you have ever touched. It's where the three of you get to show up for each other through heartache and through celebration. Heart to heart. Day by day. That is the love story.

So little Jaqi on this Valentine's Day and every one that follows: know that the deepest love is not always romantic. Sometimes it is three grown women in Mickey ears, laughing until they cry, and texting each other on a Tuesday to pray and say TQM.

Love came for you. She just came dressed as comadres.

🇩🇴 Back to my community-based learning & healing adventures. We're now in February '26. Where freedom and standing on business bloomed. Stay with me.

There is a dope woman, @dr.sandraleonvilla who runs her own business. Lifts up other people. Creates spaces for healers of colors. And does it in heels to a beautiful soundtrack. She puts on this conference each year. My first time coming. What a gift.

When you see women in their power making hard things look easy - be inspired.

I've taken lots of tests in my life. Tested for gifted as a little girl. Passed tests to be a school administrator, high school teacher, mental health clinician, realtor... that have nothing to do with character.

I was coming off of the biggest test this passed February. I passed. Even if it didn't feel like it.

React to abuse so the people that caused it could feel justified for a mess they created? Nah.

Second guess myself and who I am? Nope.

Be forced into a decision that contradicts my principals because it was 'easy'? Absolutely not.

...since I'm in a season of celebrating my wins I brought myself to Quisqeya to celebrate at this conference. Dancing. Taino tobacco ceremony. Palo Santo. Sound bath. Lluvia. Limpia. Conejo Malo at half time. My daughter. Mother water.

And to this beautiful island. How sad that some folks only know how to use you at surface level. Revolving door of tourism without knowing your depth. To only know you as a place to run from themselves instead of seeing you foster healing in the wide open. A home. Not caring to learn the language to communicate with your heart. That can be the danger with beautiful things - people don't know what to do with them other than consume. That's on them. Not you.

I left my pretend wedding ring behind on the island. The one I wear when I travel. It wasn't a mistake. A nod from above - keep nothing around you that's fake.

You passed baby. On to the next.

Looking forward to this conference next year in Huatulco.

P.S. Another skincare tip from Grandma Jaqi - don't ever let people tell you who you are.
