For a long time I thought the value in who I am was in what I was missing in this world, I thought if I could look a certain way I would be accepted and finally fill the insecurities I had. God allowed me to have the hair I wanted just so I could feel that I would still be the same person internally. This made me realize the hole in my heart couldn’t be filled with the way I look, the way I perform, or my achievements.

It’s so easy to chase vanity with the perspective of thinking “that’s the thing that will fix my problems”, when truthfully all it did was change who I was externally but kept who I was internally the same.

God may allow you to attain the goal but you’ll soon realize that it doesn’t feel like how you expected it to, there will always be a new mountain top that your flesh will desire, but truthfully the Lord is the only one that can fill the hole in your heart closed. by @jared.montour

“I know that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to do good while they live. That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil—this is the gift of God” - Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 by @jared.montour

Isaiah 55:6-7 NLT

“Seek the LORD while you can find him.
Call on him now while he is near. Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong.
Let them turn to the LORD that he may have mercy on them.”

Words cant even describe the feeling of getting to experience the grace of God. The suffering, perseverance, that leads to a joy and internal transformation thats always worth the fight, the enemy says your to weak to keep going, but Jesus says in your weakness his grace and power is all you need.

Wait on God, it’s always worth it.

“The LORD turned to him and said, ‘Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?” - Judges 6:14 by @jared.montour

If theres one word i can use to describe my walk with God in this season it is surrender. He’s been opening up opportunities for me to just take action in faith, trusting him with every step i take knowing he will put me on the right path.

Since becoming a Christian I’ve lived in so much fear for so long being afraid of seeking certain desires in my heart because i didn’t know what the outcome would be, making the excuse seem spiritual but it was really just a lack of trust in God leading me onto the right path. In Christ, he’s shown me the true inspiration, joy and LIFE that it is in him, when i take faithful action and just walk with him.

It never gets easier, you just show up so many times to the point where what use to be difficult just starts to feel normal. Consistency is truly what makes the normal things GREAT.

Make life difficult for who you are right now, to make it greater for who you can become later on, because the fruits of life is the journey to the top of the mountain, Not the actual mountain top itself.

When we live a certain way for so long, it starts to feel like “that’s just how I am”, but the adversity, pain, difficulty and trials you go through is the REASON you’re so capable of transforming into the person God has sought out for you to become.

How do we expect to reach our full potential if we don’t reap the obstacles that our future selves had to go through?

God willing. by @jared.montour
