And just like that, we said our goodbyes & drove 8.5 hours home. There are so many emotions but @jaredcartee & I both agree that most of our tears come from the reminder of God’s faithfulness & goodness.

Isla, we are so proud of you. We hope you find the truest of friends, discover what you are truly passionate about & figure out how to get paid for it, enjoy every possible concert nearby, and learn to surf. 🤍

The Lord has big things in store for you over the next four years. And every time Rhys asks where you are we get to remind him, and ourselves, that you are exactly where you are supposed to be.🤍

And somehow even through the tears and the sadness of missing you, there is so much peace in that.

Go live it all, Isla Katherine! We love you more than you know. 🤍

It was January of 2005. We had been married for a couple weeks when we moved into seminary housing in Wake Forest, NC. A couple months later, @jaredcartee brought home a new CD and pretty soon Banana Pancakes was playing from our CD player at full blast daily. Jack Johnson quickly became the soundtrack of our early years. 🤍 Before life made moving like a jellyfish a bit harder. IYKYK

Those two kids had no idea that 20+ years later they’d be dropping their daughter off at college in South Florida only to realize that the guy whose music filled their tiny apartment all those years ago was playing a concert while they were here.

Feels a little full circle. 🤍 Thank you @jackjohnson for the most perfect date night.

First Day of School. Every year. The same questions. 🤍

Took me almost an entire week to get these up…evidence of the crazy busy season we are in.😅 But I’m happy to report week one was a GREAT one for our 2nd grader, freshman and junior! 🤍
