6 months post TV life - It felt surreal and still feels kind of wrong to leave my dream job in my hometown that I enjoyed. I can’t lie, it breaks my heart a bit when strangers or people I haven’t talked to in years say they miss watching me on-air. I didn’t realize the impact I really had. From first anchoring Staley HS news in 2010, it took 10 years of sacrifices and hard work to be on KC TV, and I’ll always be proud of the 5 years that then followed.

But I am so grateful for the positive change of life since then. Two Circles is an inspiring place to work and their trust/belief in me continues to energize me. I don’t take the freedom to create for granted and feel lucky to just be a part of such a talented, forward-thinking team. While I’m no longer covering the Royals or Chiefs in a way I once thought I was born to, I’m so excited to see the unique path this job will take me down in the next 6 months, next 6 years.

Then for the first time in too long, I have a real life outside work. Yes more traveling has been great and just being a fan at The K is a joy. But most importantly, the amount of day-to-day work stress and pressure has plummeted, leaving room for life to do its thing. Weekends and nights on-air got replaced by time and experiences with the kindest soul I know, a blessing I’m thankful for each day.

Oh, and I just turned 30! Hence a bit of reflective post. So if you’ve made it this far, know that I appreciate you. I’m so appreciative of all the connections and memories made through the years, from long-time friends to small exchanges. It can be hard to choose positivity, in spite of a world where it’s easier to be negative. Past, Present & Future of TV in KC. My time at KCTV5 has come to an end after 5 years on-air, 2.5 on digital. But I’m glad that viewers will get a real upgrade once the great @lomagss graces the local airwaves! Turning 31 on the 31st day, so reminisced with the fam about 31 favorite stops in the last 13 years. So hence the old school #ThrowbackThursday dump. Very grateful for all the experiences in unique places and people I share the memories with. Can’t wait for the stops ahead.

Loving all things Kansas City is kinda my thing, so you can imagine how proud I am of how bright KC shined throughout the World Cup.
While I didn’t go to any matches, the energy felt across the entire region was surreal. From my mom volunteering at the airport, (slide 5 for the fit) to personally helping a great team produce content at the FiFa Fan Festival at Liberty Memorial, it’s an honor to play the smallest of roles in welcoming the world to our hometown.
Grateful for everyone in KC who helped show how great of a place this is!
