𝑶𝒏𝒆𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒊: The Circle is a performance-based spatial exploration investigating threshold, encounter, and non-duality through the geometry of the circle.

The circle functions simultaneously as boundary, membrane, and threshold: a spatial condition to inhabit rather than observe. Rather than staging a spectacle, the performance creates a temporary atmosphere of collective drift, where gestures, relations, and identities remain fluid and continuously reconfigured.

𝑶𝒏𝒆𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒊: The Circle is a performance-based spatial exploration investigating threshold, encounter, and non-duality through the geometry of the circle.

Developed from the earlier work The Line, the project shifts from linear space toward cyclical relation. If the line implies direction, division, and duality, the circle proposes a field without hierarchy or fixed position. Bodies enter and drift through a shared circular space where movement replaces language and encounter emerges through proximity, distance, rhythm, and attention.

Drawing from the Greek myth of the Oneiroi — dream spirits who move between sleeping and waking, truth and illusion, human and non-human forms — the work explores the softening of boundaries between self and other, observer and observed, body and environment.

From my《QIN+》Duets series: Jared Mimm

Jared Mimm is an American conceptual performance artist based in Shanghai for over 10 years. His art examines social systems from everyday life, within the context of living in the urban jungle of a megacity. Reoccurring themes in his work deal with the body, nonverbal communication, ritual, sound, and intimacy. He is the director of L.EV.E.L.S performance group, and a member of the sound drama troupe, Silence Wave. Jared is also the organizer of FREQS, an experimental collaboration series, and Transition, a meditative, site-specific performance series. He regularly creates performances, videos, and events both independently and in collaboration with major fine art institutions and top commercial brands.

《庭院、身体、装置》 30mins
Courtyard, Body, Installation: This was a physical performance that opened with improvised music and poetry. The poetry interacted with the courtyard‘s spatial environment, transforming the body from a static sculpture into a slowly moving narrative. Red, moving among the four figures, became a prop on the grand stage of the space. And the wind, stealing away the quiet mood from the lighting, created a theatrical ending that left the audience with abrupt pauses in the imagination. This thirty-minute performance, ”Courtyard, Body, Installation,“ concluded in the Shanghai Yu Garden that night.

《青玉案·元夕》是南宋词人辛弃疾的代表作。该词以绚丽的元宵灯会作背景来描绘热闹非凡的场景。看似描写爱情，反衬一位女子在尘风中的孤傲、确也描写诗人内在的不随俗浮沉的志向。
