🎬 THIS is one of the things I absolutely LOVE about filmmaking!

As the writer, I know how I envisioned a scene when I wrote it, right down to how certain lines should be delivered. But one thing I’ve learned and truly appreciate is allowing actors the freedom to bring their own creativity to the characters they portray!

In this behind-the-scenes moment, I’m talking with Jaren Hampton, who plays C.J. in “Christmas Owes Me Nothing”, about how I envisioned a particular line being delivered. Well, Jaren had a different idea! 😂 And when he shared his thoughts, I LOVED IT! We went with his suggestion, and it worked PERFECTLY!

And that’s what makes the creative process so beautiful! Sometimes an actor sees something in their character that brings an entirely different layer to the scene. As a writer, I don’t ever want to be so attached to what’s on the page that I miss the magic of what can happen when we collaborate!

I love when actors don’t just play their characters, but truly EMBODY them! That’s when the story really comes to life! ❤️

🎄🎬 November 1st, CHRISTMAS OWES ME NOTHING arrives on Amazon Prime Video! I can’t wait for you all to experience this story and see these incredibly talented actors bring these characters to life!

Great talk with @jarenthegreat dropping gems! 💎🎤

Jaren Hampton writes, directs, produces, and acts in stage plays primarily in the Nashville area. Our convo reminded me of the freedom that creativity provides. From being in stage plays to diving into book writing, the sky is simply what we stand on. 🙂‍↔️👏🏾

Not sure where to start? Pick that one interest that’s always in the back of your mind. Study the craft and the people in it who inspire you. You never know where it can take you 📝

Family Trip to Atlanta! Brought the fam down with me for the premiere of “Christmas Owes Me Nothing” but we decided to make a whole weekend out of it. Going outta town with kids is never easy, but can be fun if you keep em busy 😅 Cam wasn’t letting us go without taking his toys with him lol. We wore em out and had em knocked out by the end of the weekend lol. 10/10 trip! #familytrip #goodtimes #lafamilia #movie by @jarenthegreat
