We’ve been keeping a little secret around here. 🤎

Meet Bodee Shane Mortensen. Our newest little cowboy and the sweetest addition to our family. We’ve been soaking up these first few weeks with him, slowing down, learning our new rhythm, and enjoying all the newborn snuggles.

We know we’ve been a little quiet around the Ranch page lately, but there’s a good reason. 😉 We wanted to keep this little guy close for a while before sharing him with the world.

Now that we’re starting to get into the swing of life with a newborn, we’re excited to get back to sharing more of our days with you—our family, the ranch, the horses, and everything in between.

There’s something really special about being thought of in the middle of someone’s day 🤍

Jaron was out hunting on horseback and saw these wildflowers and thought of me.

Not fancy. Not extravagant. Just simple, handpicked flowers in a cut-off Monster can… and somehow that makes them mean even more.

It’s not very often you sell a horse to someone… and they become family 🤍

We sold one of our favorite horses to Debi and Justin a little over two years ago, and somewhere between phone calls, FaceTimes, and texts… a real friendship was built.

This weekend was extra special—not only did we get to see our boy again, but we finally got to meet in person. Watching Debi and Armani compete was something we won’t forget.

We also got to meet Lisa and Robert, who feel like family already. It’s funny how this lifestyle brings the right people into your life 🤎 Lisa and her boy did so good in the completion too!

You never really know when selling a horse will turn into lifelong friendships… just wish we all lived a little closer.

And a special shoutout to Justin for spoiling our boys with the biggest slice of chocolate cake 🤣 and to Robert for sharing his talent behind the camera—we learned a lot!

Our horses don’t always know what’s coming… and that’s kind of the point 😅

We consistently desensitize them with different objects so it becomes second nature. When something unexpected happens, they learn to think through it instead of react.

You can see it here—when the rope catches his ankle, it surprises him for a second… but instead of panicking, he steps back, processes it, and stands quietly.

That kind of response doesn’t just happen. It comes from time, consistency, and a lot of groundwork.

It’s not about them never spooking or being unsure of something… it’s about how they handle it when they encounter those situations🤎
