Harper Sharp: Kid Detective is coming out March 3, 2026 🤎 5 years of continuous development. 304 pages. It’s a really ambitious project and sets the foundation for more Harper Sharp books ahead . My goal was to encourage kids to think critically, ask questions, and seek out answers. Harper cares about his community and justice—even as a 5th grader! 🕵🏿‍♂️

I’m super proud to introduce Harper Sharp to kids all over the world 🌍

And just wait until you meet the faculty at his school, Starview Elementary. Many of them are suspicious and one of them isn’t a fan of Harper and his friends snooping around 😖

Special shoutout to my Random House team of editors (@whitleopard & @alexlu_comics) , designers, letterer (@rowatree) and colorists (especially @friendshipsage & @colemanengle) 🔥 I couldn’t have created a series on this scale without your talents 💯 Thank you for believing in me and this world I wanted to build 🤎

More sneak peeks coming up next 🔎

Day 1 of @nttbf was great! I met a lot of fellow authors and educators including Hilo creator @juddwinick . If you know how I began at @onipress & SCAD , Judd’s work was some of the earliest comic samples I was given (as an example of comics to study). So it was a really cool, full circle moment meeting him! His Hilo series has 12 books you should check out too!

I got a lot of 💎’s throughout the day that I’ll keep in mind as I move forward. One thing I’ll say is that the camaraderie here really does wonders for the soul. I’m looking forward to meeting all the students pulling up to festival today and signing some books! 🚌 🚌🚌

Sneak Peek 👀 🔍

Another Harper Sharp mystery is dropping this Spring! I just received the color proofs and I’m a bit emotional. This story challenges Harper to trust his instincts even more as a young detective. I hope this series inspires kids to think critically and to believe in themselves, especially when the odds seem stacked against them! 🌟

It’s a great companion to his first adventure, with the Starview Forest near Harper’s house as our mystery’s setting 🌳 I can’t wait to share more!

🔊 I officially turned in art for Harper Sharp 2: Camp Chaos earlier this week! I locked-in heavy to pull it off 😪 I’m so proud of the work and wanted to share some sneak peeks from Harper’s next 270 page adventure.

Harper heads deep into the woods to solve a mystery along with his best friends during their Starview Scout Troop meeting. But not all of the scouts can be trusted …🌳 More details later… 👀🕵🏿‍♂️ ☕️

Big shoutout to @alexlu_comics & @rowatree & @rhkidsgraphic for the extra morale support to swing the impossible. Your encouragement pushed me to finish line. I also want to thank @friendshipsage for helping me convey the atmosphere of this book through color. To my family & friends who weathered the exhausted version of me the past several months, thank you for your patience and for bringing me lots of seafood! 🤣❤️ I slept 12 hours today and it’s starting to hit me what was accomplished. I’m so thankful 🙏🏿

I’ll be at ALA Chicago this week! So if you’re there, I’ll have more sneak peeks at my alley table (Booth 1851) Librarians & fellow creatives, come see the new stuff!

This weekend, I had the pleasure of signing copies of Harper Sharp at the LA Times Festival of Books & (Pages) A Bookstore at the campus of USC 🥳 📚

A super special thanks to the team at @pagesabookstore & @rhkidsgraphic for coordinating such an awesome day. It was dope meeting new readers, educators, fellow cartoonists like @emsteinkellner, and so many graphic novel lovers.

I’m just super grateful to finally have this series out in the world. I hope young readers are encouraged by Harper to dream big and think critically. I also hope they look forward to his many adventures to come 🕵🏿‍♂️
