Confidently Playful—Jasmine Le (part 2)

What started as something light and playful unfolded into something much deeper. As I looked back through the images, I was reminded why I’m so drawn to capturing people—those unplanned, honest moments that reveal themselves without force.

COCO is paid in community 😭

I occasionally get a little sentimental on social media and maybe it’s because of the incredibly difficult year. But the beauty in challenges is the moments that fill you with unbelievable admiration and joy. You cannot appreciate the highs until you have experienced the lows.

I have found those moments in COCO. I’d forgotten how wonderfully humbling it is to feel curiously seen.

A few weeks ago, I was about 90% sure I was moving back to Texas. Mostly for financial reasons, missing my Texas peeps, and honestly, I struggled with belonging in Denver. I had some connections but due to the circumstances of everyday life, looking different in most rooms, or from myself or others, not much really stuck.

The u-haul was booked and I was planning my cross-states move, but I still ended up at a couple of COCO events. And every time I walked away from an event, I kept wanting to run back. To witness the magic of talented creatives dropping their ego and collaborating for the sake of art and connection.

That’s all thanks to @_paularay, an extraordinary visionary who just wants to create safe spaces where people can be held and inspired. Who values the artists, not just the art. And @cocoeventgroup has done just that alongside @departmentdenver. I believe that’s rare to find these days.

After multiple reoccurring existential crises and crash out calls with my besties (lol ty besties), I canceled the u-haul and decided to stay. I wanted to be a part of building a truly diverse community of different colors, creative mediums, backgrounds, and lifestyles. So others can feel safe and valued in a world that pressures you to stay competitive and small, like COCO does for me.

Community is difficult to find but it’s worth it when you show up and put in the effort. A friend of mine has this beautiful saying: “there’s a universe in everyone’s eyes.” So say hi to a stranger and stay curious about those in your life. I’m just starting to remind myself how to.

🥹😭❤️‍🔥🤍🙌🏼🎬✨🎶 it is my DREAM to make beautiful meaningful music videos for artists like @lane8 and @sultanshepard , so I just decided to DO IT 🥹😎🥰🤍✨

This song came out a long time ago and immediately struck such a strong chord with me. I INSTANTLY saw this beautiful video of uplifting HOPE and possibility in my head, and immediately knew I wanted @s.__.am and @scarzed to star in it (@moonflowercoffee.co is the most loving community space because of how amazing they are) 🩵

In a world that feels increasingly more disconnected, lane 8’s music has always facilitated so much connection & hope for me, that I wanted to create a music video that evoked all the same energy in such a strong way 🤍

I am choosing to self-produce this video of my own volition because I CARE so much about the meaningful impacts I feel behind it, and I have been in contact with his label for permission to film it purely as a creative passion project 😌🥰🙏🏼

We’ve got shoot day #1 under our belts and MANY more scenes to go! (A 6 min. long song is a whole lotta story to tell 😍)

I would NOT in any way be able to do this project without the INCREDIBLE team of humans bringing it to life with me 😭 like this would not be ANYTHING without the support of these insanely talented people’s contributions 🥹🙌🏼🤍⬇️🎬

For at leasttttt 5 years now, I’ve been consistently speaking, dreaming, and writing about my visions of becoming a music video director. There’s something so intrinsic to my soul that is designed to communicate meaningful visions in this way.

For years and years I was self-funding my own projects, practicing, learning more and more about film production and meeting some really incredible humans in the film and music communities here in Denver.

Fast forward to the incredible @thisisanaluna and I connecting earlier this year, and immediatelyyy syncing and clicking on style & vision to bring this stunning concept to life for her song “Infini” 🎻

Throughout every creative direction meeting we had, there was so much synchronicity and alignment, and I felt so much confidence and magnetism.

Even better - we ended up bringing on this INCREDIBLE dream team of humans on set with us to bring it to life 🥹😭

I’ve always dreamed of having full production teams on set with me to elevate the visions that much more, and getting to meet and create with people like @jas.le and @karakarablooms in the past few years has been the biggest blessing to create these beautiful immersive worlds of set design ✨

Then come in @daniel.gchoi and @eddie_g who are such incredible humans and SO knowledgeable and competent in their craft - they brought so much to the table for this shoot day and I’m so in awe of and grateful for them both. None of this would’ve been possible without them!!

Beyond that - WHOLE ass team of other infinitely talented creators to credit for this project I could go on and on 🥹🦋

Picture this: you ask your team to build an ethereal cocoon world and they KNOCK IT OUT OF THE FRIGGIN PARK. 🪽

SCENE 2: I honestly didn’t want to leave this set or this scene. It all felt so beautiful and safe and cozy to me. So grateful for the incredible artists who spent 4 hours building and designing it - what a dream. I can’t wait to share the video with all of you.

i didn’t really have a plan before creating this set for the nude figure drawing class hosted by @moody_ting x @cocoeventgroup. even though i struggled to bring the vision to life half the time and was constantly tangled up in fabric, i simply trusted the process and kept going. in the end, it turned out better than i imagined. ethereal, soft, and intimate.

10/10 would do it all over again.

Thank you as always to @departmentdenver for letting us play in the space and @notoraes.world for helping me put this together!
