All I can say is thank you God…My heavenly father, my everything, and my protector. You've kept me throughout this pregnancy down to the day little David was brought into this world…2.11.25 💙. I can't wait to tell this testimony. As I sit in this hospital recovering from a traumatic event that could've ended fatal I think about the promises God made from the start. The dreams you gave me. The small voice reminding me that you're with me. The love I felt throughout it all. You have always shown yourself to be faithful in my life and while I'm not worthy of all you have given and shown me I'm forever grateful and will never take what YOU feel about me for granted!

This is a big moment…David Edward you're special and as I continue to grieve and miss your granddaddy, my daddy-o! You're that joy and a piece of him here on earth.

Cheers to the joyssss of mommys BOYYYYY!!!!

Soooo! I knew The Power of Her was going to be a part of @artprize in Grand Rapids. I knew my photography was going to be displayed. And I was excited about it.

But actually walking around Grand Rapids, seeing ArtPrize EVERYWHERE, seeing people exploring all of the different exhibits…and then walking in and seeing work that I photographed?!

Yeah. That hit different 🥹😭🤭

Sometimes we’re so busy doing the work, moving on to the next thing, taking care of life…that we don’t stop long enough to realize the weight of what we’ve done.

And I’m learning to stop and take those moments in. This is one of them 🙏🏽

My beautiful sis @katemmilligan , THANK YOU for trusting me with your vision for @1girlrevo 🩷 Your excitement and commitment behind The Power of Her has been beautiful to watch. You believed in what this could be and have continued to pour into it, and I’m so grateful that you trusted me to be a part of bringing it to life. ALWAYS!!

And to every woman who stepped in front of my camera, thank you for allowing me to capture a piece of your story 🥹 keep doing what you do!

Today’s pop-up at Rebel Nell was absolutely POPPING - champagne, Hungry Howie’s, and hundreds of incredible people coming through #ArtPrize to connect with us and The Power of Her exhibit. We are so beyond grateful! 💕

✨ REVOLUTION OF THE WEEK: Jasmine Sumlin ✨

Meet the incredible photographer behind 1 Girl Revolution’s The Power of Her!

Earlier this year, I had a great conversation with my dear sistafriend @melissacoulier about something I was dreaming up. Mel said, “You need to call Jasmine.” So I did. I told Jasmine we had about two weeks to pull together an exhibit of portrait photos of real, world-changing women... and without skipping a beat, Jasmine said, “I’m in!”

I’ll never every “yes” and all of the enthusiasm from the women! I’ll never forget the hurdles we had to overcome to make it happen (don’t ask Jasmine and I about the camera that decided not to work at the 1st shot of the day!) And I’ll never forget that photoshoot. Jasmine’s young kids were right there with her, and at one point her one-year-old boy was on her back while she photographed these incredible women. If that isn’t the power of her, I don’t know what is. 💪

What started as a little dream became 1 Girl Revolution’s The Power of Her, now competing in ArtPrize in Grand Rapids! If you live in Grand Rapids, know someone who does, or plan to go to ArtPrize, please support us, vote for us, and spread the word. Come see the exhibit at Rebel Nell (96 Monroe Center St NW) through October 2nd. We want to bring this exhibit to as many people as possible and remind the world of the power every woman and girl holds.

What a DAY. 😅 It was a lonnnggg one to and from Grand Rapids today in a rental van that was basically falling apart and livin’ on a prayer, but we did it - 1 Girl Revolution’s The Power of Her Art Prize exhibit is officially set up at Rebel Nell’s Grand Rapids store! Let’s goooo girls!

More to come on all of this, but right now I am just SO excited for you all to see these incredible photos and learn about the incredible women and initiatives behind them.

A huge thank you to my dear sistafriend Jasmine Sumlin, the insanely talented photographer behind most of the photos in this exhibit. Jasmine, your eye and your heart made this exhibit come to life. Thank you for believing in this project and for bringing this beauty into the world. 📸

And to my dear sistafriend MJ Nowak - thank you for spending your entire day today in a shotty van, driving to Grand Rapids and back with me, and helping set up this exhibit. I could not have done this without you.

And to my husband Joe - thank you for always believing in this dream, and for helping me lug those massive 8ft metal pillars out of our garage and loading them up for the long trek. You always believe in whatever crazy dream I come up with and I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without you and your love and support. Thank you!
