I love drums!!! 🤘 Event : @theshed.mtl one and only MTL drum jam session! Pic by : @fopho.tos 📸 Kit by : William & co from @ebenor_percussion This is me doing what I’m meant to be doing : music, creation, expression - after months of mourning and self-isolation. I hadn’t saw a picture of me being truly *happy* in a long time, no fake smile or calculated angle - just pure, raw happiness. I learned today that, after I just lost my employment insurance benefits, I got accepted into the IVAC program for survivors of violence, where the financial help I need to rebuild my life will be provided. I couldn’t be more grateful to the Universe for how this turned out, and with up to 2 years of support, I couldn’t be in a better place to create and heal. I wanna make music that’ll soothe my own PTSD symptoms so that other people suffering from this condition can benefit from this. Gradually, I’ll rebuild the energy necessary for performing again regularly as well, and I will share my tracks and songs this year as I open up more and more. The industry is tough and sometimes we all need a break. I spent 3 years pushing a dream in the hands of people who were gonna break it, but twice that in the trenches mixing live and 21 years playing. Sometimes we make mistakes, even bigger ones : There’s no shame in that! #drumsforlife #musicianlife #takeabreak #mentalhealthawareness #godisgood🙏 taken in Montreal, Quebec by @jas_bataille

Today I really didn’t felt like posting, but I committed to it with the @stanforcreators Dare to post challenge, so I decided to open up and make a reel about what happened in those past months. Some people might have wondered why they didn’t see me at my usual spots anymore… I can’t give more details, but this explains it. I wanted to take a moment to thank some people who are doing more than they think for me and others having a hard time tonight : @skatewithmarly for the amazing time I had at the @sat_montreal SAT roller dance 🪩 - my first time roller skating but not my last! @theshed.mtl for the amazing Montreal drumshed event at @musicopratik 🤘 @ryanbennettreal for his amazing commitment to bringing an open and free creative space for jazz at McGill’s room C-304 every friday and organizing free workshops as well! And finally the great @bennygreb for being such an inspiration and @danbed27 and @stephanechamberland for being a worldclass teachers and organizing everything!! Remember to be grateful y’all. On God!!! #mentalhealthawareness #gratefulness #mtljetaime #musicianslife #standaretopost taken in Montreal, Quebec by @jas_bataille

I’ve always dreamt of playing guitar 🎸… for 21 years! A “teacher” told me when I was a kid I couldn’t because my fingers where weird (wow) so I abandoned the idea. Even tho I was always involved in music as a drummer and sound engineer, playing guitar was always on my mind, as well as piano and singing. I will make some covers playing a few instruments on YouTube this year, so stay tuned! . . . #musicianlife #guitarbeginner #rnbmusic #singerofinstagram #standaretopost @stanforcreators by @jas_bataille

Here’s a fun crazy kick-snare-hat linear fill!!! A little nonuplet (apparently a quarter/9) in there? Why not! Was inspired to get back to shed by the great people over at @theshed.mtl - check them out! Shoutout to the amazing @darrellgreendrummer as well for the great advice on relaxing and breathing while playing, and @noahcoodin for the kind words! Y’all are whipping my butt back in shape! Sticking is : KLLRRLLKL - RRLLRRLK 1. 2 #musicianlife #drumstagram #drumlife #montrealdrummer @theshed.mtl @drumfeature @stanforcreators #standaretopost by @jas_bataille

After a couple days of starting guitar, I learned this classic #horsewithnoname by @americaband - soon to be fully and properly recorded on YouTube! I plan on releasing a new song every week to document my journey, that’s my 2026 main goal. Easiest guitar part… the singing is another thing for this one tho 😅 #musicianlife #folksinger #70’smusic by @jas_bataille

Recording live with #globenskytheband at the 450 main street church in Farnham, next to La Petite Église where @arcadefire had their studio established from 2004 to 2014 if I'm not mistaken! Farnham is a village known for their churches with phenomenal acoustic. I had a blast!!! . . . . #drumming #liverecording #drumminglife #drummer taken in Farnham, Quebec by @jas_bataille
