@portoboston is one of the prettiest restaurants in Back Bay and it feels like you’re dining in the Amalfi Coast 🍋🍸 They have an indoor Amalfi Canopy Table with a prix fixe menu, plus the Amalfi Patio filled with lemon trees that gives Mediterranean vibes. The cocktails are so tasty, and the seafood and pasta definitely were delicious.We started with two of their signature tequila cocktails (so refreshing), then ordered a little bit of everything: tuna tartare, the shaved zucchini & arugula salad, chitarra verde, the whole seared branzino (def my favorite, the fish was incredibly fresh and the sauce was sooo good), and the double rib lamb chops that were perfectly cooked and super juicy.And remember to save room for the table side tiramisu 👀 They have three flavors: original, pistachio, and strawberry. @chinagourmet is one of my favorite hidden gems in Chinatown for authentic Fuzhounese and Szechuan food. I love it bc it’s cozy, family-owned, affordable, and the portions are HUGE. The food is always soo bomb, and right now they’re running a deal that’s a steal: get a $1 lobster when you spend $50+ dining in between 5–9 PM. They also have an amazing lunch special where you can get 3 entrees for $33 or a combo meal for just $13.Some of their popular dishes are their sweet and sour ribs, dumplings, mala fish, braised lamb, crab, and more. Finally made it to @aatmaatwidowmaker after seeing their food all over my feed for months, and it definitely lived up to the hype. As someone who loves Indian food, I knew I had to try it after hearing everyone rave about the bold spices and creative dishes.What makes this spot stand out is their attention to quality. They import spices directly from India and grind them fresh in-house, which makes every dish incredibly aromatic and packed with flavor.The menu has a great mix of traditional Indian favorites and unique fusion creations. We started with the mango lassi and masala chai, then ordered the lamb meatballs (one of our favorites), tandoori mushrooms, tater tots, benne dosa, their famous burger (SO good), and the chicken sandwich, which was perfectly juicy and flavorful. Of course, we had to finish with the masala chai churros.I already want to go back. The menu has rotating items, so there’s always something new to try! I can’t believe I’m just finding out about these @southshorefoodtruckassociation truck nights! They host weekly food truck festivals in Weymouth, Hanover, Braintree, East Bridgewater, and Kingston, and it’s such a fun summer activity. Every week features a different lineup of local food trucks, so there’s always something new to try. From burgers and BBQ to grilled cheese, pizza, ice cream, and more.I checked out the Weymouth event (every Friday from 5–8 PM) and the vibes were immaculate. There was live music, face painting, tons of families, and a huge outdoor space to hang out and eat your way through the food lineup.What I tried:🧀 Grilled cheese, loaded tots, & lemonade from @momonthegofoodtruck 🍗 Korean BBQ chicken sandwich from @get_in_my_bellyllc 🍔 Smash burger from @kcscurbsidebistro 🍦 Ice cream from @elliestreatsweymouth I love how you can try a bunch of different spots all in one place. You’ve probably seen this iconic crab shack right at the entrance to Seaport. You can’t miss the giant red and yellow tent or the “Big Deck Energy” sign @barkingcrab It’s a great spot to grab a drink after work, chill with waterfront views, and dig into some classic New England seafood. The atmosphere is always lively, especially during lunch and dinner, and there’s something about the decor and waterfront vibe that makes it fun! The menu has a little bit of everything, from lobster rolls and fresh oysters to tuna bites, shrimp, scallops, and fried seafood. The fried clams were my fav app and I also loved the jumbo scallops, shrimp, and lobster tail entree. Boston finally has another fast-casual Indian spot. @tablaexpressboston just opened inside @novomarketplace in Allston, and after trying it, I understand why everyone’s talking about it. I’ve always felt like Boston could use more Indian street food, and this is exactly the kind of place I’ve been looking for.The food is made fresh, including the chicken tikka and naan, and everything I tried was packed with flavor. You can mix and match dishes without spending a ton!I ordered the Deluxe Plate ($17.50), which comes with 2 entrees, 2 sides, and an appetizer. @bistrodumidi just launched their new summer tasting menu inspired by the coastal flavors of Southern France, and it was such a fun dining experience. I always love tasting menus because they push me to try different dishes, and this one had so many unique flavors that paired surprisingly well with each wine. What I appreciated most was that the staff walked us through every course and pairing, explaining what to expect and why the flavors worked together.The experience includes 7 courses ($195 pp), with an optional wine pairing ($105 pp). @sakabayashi_usa is an authentic sushi tavern in Back Bay is home to the first U.S. location of Japan’s largest sushi chain, and the menu is packed with options. From rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and hand rolls to sake and cocktails, narrowing down what to order is the hardest part.I came specifically to try their new Unagi Delights menu and the toro salmon, and both were worth the visit. As a huge unagi fan, I loved how soft, buttery, and flavorful everything was. The miso-glazed unagi was easily one of my favorite bites of the night.A few other standouts were the Fujiyama Carpaccio (an absolute must-order), Greedy Maguro, Sakabayashi Boston Roll, and the Sweet Symphony Parfait for dessert.What I really like about this spot is that you can try a variety of high-quality sushi and dishes without spending a bunch, which is hard to find in Back Bay. @captlouibraintree is of my favorite spots for a seafood boil in the Greater Boston area is right inside South Shore Plaza in Braintree. 🦀The seafood selection here is wild! They have snow crab, king crab, lobster, shrimp, mussels, and more. You can mix and match your boil and then load up on sides (the garlic noodles are always a must for me).Their sauces are what stands out to me. The Capt Loui seasoning is a classic, but the lemon pepper sauce was also so good. And if seafood isn’t your thing, they have plenty of other options like fried seafood baskets, sandwiches, and surprisingly good wings. You also have to save room for dessert. The funnel cake fries and beignets are so yummy.Be prepared to get messy and leave very full. @ottoportland just launched a new Pizza Passport program, and it’s a great excuse to eat more pizza 🍕I stopped by the Brookline location and forgot how good OTTO is. The dough and sauce are seriously underrated, and they have way more than just pizza. Their sandwiches, salads, and desserts are all worth checking out too. The Pizza Passport rewards you for exploring OTTO’s menu and visiting different locations throughout the year. You can earn stamps by trying different large pizzas or checking out multiple OTTO spots (there are more locations than I realized). Rack up enough stamps and you’ll score free pizza.The program runs through the end of the year, so if you already have an OTTO near you or just want to try a new pizza spot, this is fun.
