2025 - my wrapped✨

This year was full. Full of airports and early mornings ✈️
Different cities almost every month.
New clients who slowly became familiar faces.

I watched some of my best friends get married 💍
I said goodbye to one of my closest friends as they moved overseas 🌍
I made a conscious effort to pour into new friendships, protect old ones and build community - not just online, but in real life 🤝

This year, I was trusted.
Trusted by clients who gave me patience, space and creative freedom - and for that, I’m endlessly grateful 🙏🏼
You allowed me to create work that felt true to me, and that’s something I’ll never take lightly.

I also found balance in unexpected places.
I picked up padel 🎾 - not just as a sport, but as a social reset. New people, new conversations and a reminder that life exists beyond deadlines and deliverables.

But it wasn’t all highlight reels.
There were late nights editing. Tight turnarounds. Missed rest. My body reminded me more than once that I was doing too much - flying constantly and pushing limits.

The work came at a cost and that’s something I’m learning to respect more 🫶🏼
This carousel holds the wins, the people, the moments and the lessons 📸

If you’ve supported, booked, shared, checked in or simply followed along - thank you. You were part of this year more than you know 📸

Here’s to growth, community and doing the work with intention 🤍

SHOT ON iPHONE: SUNSET EDITION 🌅

A sunset is more than just a moment. It’s a gradual change in light, colour and atmosphere and knowing how to work with it can completely change your photographs 📸

Here are four things I pay attention to when shooting sunsets on my iPhone ➡️ (swipe for more)

Tags: iPhone sunset photography, iPhone camera tips, sunset photography tips, golden hour photography, blue hour photography, mobile photography tutorial, iPhone exposure settings, sunset composition, photography for beginners

CHANGE THE TEMPERATURE

Cooler tones can create a moodier sunset 🌅

Experiment with white balance as the light fades, keeping the colours intentional rather than simply making everything warmer.

WHEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE TEMPERATURE

🌡️Experiment with cooler tones as the warm light fades. Look for contrast between the blue sky and the remaining warmth on the horizon.

KEEP YOUR HORIZON LEVEL 🏔️

📱Enable Grid and Level in your camera settings.
📉Use the guides to keep the horizon straight and your composition balanced.

WHY SHOULD YOU KEEP YOUR HORIZON LEVEL

📱This simple change will create allow your photos to already have better composition.
The sunset may be the focus but you can draw your viewers eye to this by making one simple change.

LOCK FOCUS. LOWER EXPOSURE 📸

☀️Tap and hold on the sun or the bright area nearby until AE/AF Lock appears.

⬇️Drag the exposure slider down to preserve the colour in the sky and avoid washed-out highlights.

WHEN SHOULD YOU LOCK EXPOSURE

You should do this for almost every sunset picture.
Remember that the hues of sunset change throughout it’s entirety. You will be missing out on colours you never saw before by not reducing exposure 🌅

SUNSET HAS PHASES

🌅Golden hour is only the beginning.
📸Stay for the changing colours, deeper silhouettes and cooler twilight. The best light might still be ahead.

THE BIGGEST LESSON? ☀️

Be patient. Golden hour is only one part of the sunset and the light continues to change long after the sun goes down.

Save this for your next sunset, and send it to someone who loves taking taken in Cape Town, South Africa by @jashjpeg

After the yes, before the forever 💍

An afternoon spent documenting this beautiful season of their story, surrounded by the Cape Town coastline and a little bit of sunshine 🌊☀️

No big production. No perfectly choreographed moments. Just the couple, completely comfortable in each other’s company and enjoying this exciting chapter together.

This is what I love about engagement sessions. Creating photographs that feel personal to the couple while giving them something tangible to remember this season by 📸

SHOOT LIKE A PRO 📸

THREE iPhone settings that changed how I shoot:

☀️ Reduce Exposure
🌙 Night Mode OFF
📸 Burst Mode

#JashJPEG #TheJPEGCollective #iPhonePhotography #TravelPhotography #LondonPhotography

Tags: iPhone camera settings, iPhone photography tips, iPhone camera tricks, iPhone Night Mode, iPhone Burst Mode, iPhone exposure settings, iPhone travel photography, London iPhone photography, how to take better iPhone photos, smartphone photography tips

REDUCE EXPOSURE ☀️
Your iPhone automatically adjusts exposure.
But you can take control.

📱How to reduce exposure:

1. Open Camera
2. Tap where you want to focus
3. Find the ☀️ exposure slider
4. Drag it down
5. Take your photo

You can also open the Camera Controls and select Exposure to make the adjustment.

You’re not changing the scene.
You’re changing how the camera interprets it 📸

WHEN SHOULD YOU REDUCE EXPOSURE?
Whenever your highlights are getting too bright or the scene feels flatter than you want.

Think:

🌅 Sunsets
☁️ Bright skies
🏛️ Architecture
💡 Bright lights
🌊 Reflections
🌇 Golden hour

NIGHT MODE: OFF
Sometimes the best night photo is the one where you don’t use Night Mode.

📱How to turn it off:

Open Camera in a low-light scene.
Tap the Night Mode icon 🌙
Then select Off.

But if you want your iPhone to remember that choice:

Settings → Camera → Preserve Settings → Night Mode → ON

Now your iPhone can remember your Night Mode preference instead of automatically resetting it 🚀

SO WHEN SHOULD YOU TURN IT OFF?
Night Mode is designed to brighten low-light scenes and capture more detail.

But sometimes…

I WANT THE DARKNESS.

🌃 Deeper shadows
✨ More contrast
🌙 More atmosphere
💡 More controlled highlights

BURST MODE 📸
Don’t just keep tapping the shutter.
Use Burst Mode.

📱 How to activate it:

Open Camera.
Press the shutter and swipe LEFT.
Keep holding as you swipe to capture a rapid sequence of photos.

Lift your finger to stop.

WHEN SHOULD YOU USE BURST?
Whenever the moment is changing faster than you can react.

🚍 A bus approaching
🚕 A car moving through your frame
👤 People walking
🏃 Movement
🌊 Waves
🐦 Birds

STOP SHOOTING EVERYTHING AT 1X📱

Here’s how I used the different iPhone cameras at Boulders Beach, Cape Town 🐧🇿🇦

 START WIDE 🌊

Before looking for the perfect subject, show us where you are.

Use the wider camera to establish the scene and give your viewer a sense of place.

📍Think location first, subject second.

1X FOR THE STORY 📱

1x keeps more of the environment in your frame.

Use it when the location is part of the photograph, not just the background.

🐧 The penguin is the subject, but Boulders Beach is part of the story.

ZOOM FOR THE SUBJECT 🔍

Don’t always walk closer just because you can.

Use zoom when you want to isolate your subject and remove some of the surrounding distractions.

📱 Sometimes the better photograph comes from taking a step back and zooming in.

ZOOM CHANGES THE STORY 👀

A wider frame tells us WHERE.
A tighter frame tells us WHAT.

Neither is better.

They’re simply telling different parts of the story.

WAIT FOR THE MOMENT 🐧

Once you’ve chosen your focal length, don’t just start shooting.

Watch.

Wait.
Then capture the moment.

📸 The interaction between these two penguins made the photograph.

THE TAKEAWAY 🚀

SAME LOCATION.
DIFFERENT FOCAL LENGTH.
DIFFERENT STORY

The trick isn’t always finding the “best” camera.

It’s choosing the camera that tells the story you want to tell📱

Shot on iPhone 18 Pro Max.

YOUR IPHONE TRAVEL CHEAT SHEET 📱

🌊 Wide → Establish the location
📱 1x → Tell the story
🔍 Zoom → Isolate the subject
👀 Closer → Capture the details
🐧 Any lens → Wait for the moment

SAVE THIS FOR YOUR NEXT TRIP.

September, in fragments ✨

Another year around the sun, a few new memories, some familiar places and plenty of moments worth keeping.

A little September dump, one frame at a time 📸

#JashJPEG #TheJPEGCollective #SeptemberDump #BirthdayMonth #LifeLately

Shoot days always start with coffee! 📸☕️

Took mom on a little adventure 🏞️

This is why I can never get any decent pictures 🫢🤣

Went to see the boy @suhaylessa 👏🏼

Had to get my favourite brunch meal before the fast @jarryds_eatery 🍳

Got to explore Boulders Beach after a long time 🌊

Had some fun with @shas93 creating content for a footwear store 🛍️

One of my favourite locations to shoot, it really doesn’t get better than this! 🌅

Crashed the drone, AGAIN! 🥲🤣😂

Got to shoot at @grandafricacafeandbeach 📸

This looked a lot warmer than it was, Cape Town was still defrosting ❄️

Took the scenic root to Hermanus, unfortunately no whales were seen 🥲

Always fun catching the penguins in Spring 🐧

@nateshwar_sa Cape Town’s annual dance show is something not to be missed! 🚀

Getting back into it with @virginactivesa

Might be convinced to start another side quest soon 👀

The last sunset of September was definitely worth capturing 🌅 taken in Cape Town, South Africa by @jashjpeg

A little pause between the ceremony and the celebrations 🤍

The creative session has always been one of my favourite parts of a wedding day. It’s a chance to step away from the beautiful chaos, slow things down and create something just for the two of them 📸

This time, the rain had other plans. 🌧️

What was meant to be an outdoor session became an indoor creative shoot at their hotel. A change of scenery, a little improvisation and a reminder that you don’t need everything to go to plan to create something beautiful 💍

Just the two of them, the quiet moments in between and a love that speaks for itself ♥️

Because beyond the details, the outfits and the celebrations, these are the photographs that bring you back to how it all felt 📸

And that’s what I’ll always love most about this part of the day ✨

📸 SHOOT LIKE A PRO: COMPOSITION 🔍

📱 iPhone Edition (iPhone 15 Pro Max)
🇧🇪 Belgium Travel Diaries

The question I get asked the most:
“What camera should I buy?” 📷

My answer? The one you already have in your hand📱

Before investing in expensive cameras and lenses, learn how to make the most of the camera you already own.

In this episode of Shoot Like a Pro | iPhone Edition, I’m sharing a few simple photography tips you can use RIGHT NOW to take your iPhone photography from average to more intentional✨

📐 Turn on your grid
🎯 Understand the rule of thirds
📏 Keep your camera level
👀 Pay attention to composition
🌿 Use your surroundings to create depth

You don’t need the most expensive camera to create a great photograph 📸

You need to learn how to see 👀

📌 Save this for your next photo walk.

What should I cover in the next episode? 👇🏽

#ShootLikeAPro #iPhoneEdition #JashJPEG #MobilePhotography #PhotographyTips

📐 START WITH YOUR GRID

Before you take the shot, turn on your grid.

It helps you:
▫️ Position your subject
▫️ Balance your frame
▫️ Create intentional compositions

⚙️ iPhone Settings → Camera → Grid + Level

See your frame before you capture it 📸

✨THE RULE OF THIRDS

Divide your frame into 9 sections.

Place your subject along the lines or at their intersections to create a more balanced composition.

📌 Tip: Your subject doesn’t always need to be in the centre.

📸 NOW, REMOVE THE GRID

The grid is a guide.
Your eye is the tool.

Once you understand your composition, focus on:

👀 Your subject
⚖️ Balance in the frame
🎯 What’s competing for attention

Use the grid to learn. Use your eye to refine 📸

✨ USE LEADING LINES

Streets, buildings and architectural details can guide the viewer’s eye through your photograph.

📍 Look for:
▫️ Roads and pathways
▫️ Building lines
▫️ Architectural details

Look for the lines before you lift your phone 📸

🖼️ FRAME YOUR SUBJECT

Look beyond what’s directly in front of you.

Use:
🌿 Leaves
🚪 Doorways
🏛️ Surrounding objects

Create a natural frame that adds depth and draws attention to your subject.

Sometimes, the best frame is already around you 📸

📸 DON’T IGNORE THE FOREGROUND
