Each painting has it's own rhythm.

Wrestling with myself while setting up challenges and navigating through them is part of my play. I love seeing how a painting changes dynamic when introducing an additional colour. Keying up, calibrating and holding intensity has been a major theme in this one.

This painting too was recently included in the inventory @taylorgrahamgallery. It was painted as part of an ongoing series originally designated for an exhibition in Santa Fe, NM.

Here is another painting of mine projected by @taylorgrahamgallery into a formal setting. This painting
South Meadow, 2014 is celebrating a visit to the magical Great Spruce Head Island, Maine, the private Island where Fairfield Porter spent his summers.

Thinking of my painting Wanderlust from 2018 now @taylorgrahamgallery
The way they project the paintings into an installation (see image 3) is always a nice surprise for me.

Breaking the image plane down into small components opens the possibility to flexibly reorganize these.

Good day with some new starts in the homestudio. What it means to take risks and accept challenges keeps on changing and depends on one's parameters. Building up these paintings seems to always take a lot of time yet I treasure the thought process involved.

My regular drawing practice into the sketchbooks has clearly influenced how I move around within my paintings.
