25 years ago, our lives were changed forever. The security we as Americans felt was ripped right out from under us. Countless lives lost on that day and for years there after. People scarred for life bc of the things they saw. This was a very real and raw moment for my generation. The first time we felt our safety threatened to that degree. 25 years later we owe it to all of the victims and their families to
NEVER FORGET! But we owe them so much more. We say we will never forget but here we stand as a nation completely divided again- we have forgotten. We owe it to the innocent victims, police officers, firefighters, EMS, etc to DO BETTER!
25 years later, I’m grateful for my friend who stayed with me that day. We survived together. 25 years later, I still think about my best childhood friend sitting in my living room telling me the awful things he saw, how it impacted his ability to sleep, and how those images haunted him.
25 years later, I remember my friends grieving their loved ones, trying to put trust in a world that no longer felt safe, trying to stay strong even though it felt like everything was falling apart.

Seeing this makes me smile but also makes me so sad. Kudos to all of the “step” parents who love their spouses kids like their own. That fill my heart. The sadness comes from not being given that same opportunity. My parents split when I was just 7 years old and since that day life was never the same. Not because of the divorce- but bc my step parent couldn’t love me this way, couldn’t get past how much my sister and I loved our own mother. It was always a competition and we eventually lost. Now I live my life with part of me missing all because of a grown woman’s insecurities. I’ve stayed quiet for so long but now it’s time to tell my truth, honor my boundaries and heal from years of not being good enough. To all parents navigating divorce, please consider your kids and do your best to coparent and make sure whoever comes into your life, loves your kids like their own. by @jasmine.a.f_

And the emotions continue. 😭 14 years ago this beautiful girl made me a mom and my life was forever changed for the better. The days are long but the years are short. Today I watched my first born graduate from middle school. There are no words to describe how proud I am of you Riley. You have worked so hard and have accomplished so much already. Riley received the Heart of Gold award and an award for most improved vocals. I couldn’t be prouder. Skies the limit for you baby girl! There are no words to describe how emotional I am today. My baby had his moving up ceremony and just like that- elementary is over. Im so incredibly proud of you Jaxon. Leading by example, always putting your best effort forward and your kind heart. Jaxon won the citizenship award and I couldnt be prouder. Thank you to everyone who has supported by son throughout his elementary years. We have been so blessed when it comes to teachers. His teachers this year are absolutely wonderful and I’m so grateful to them. But I also want to shoutout all of the teachers he’s had. We wouldn’t be here today without you. by @jasmine.a.f_

Happy Happy Father’s Day to the keeper of my heart and the best daddy out there. You are our rock and we love you so much. Thank you for our beautiful family. Watching you be a dad to our babies brings me so much joy!!! And after all these years- I’d still choose you to be their dad. Thank you for being there to love them, help them, and teach them.
