⭐️Congratulations Jasmine Carson!!⭐️

Jasmine is one of just eleven drama school students from across the UK who have been awarded the Laurence Olivier Bursary! 🎭

We caught up with Jasmine, from Glastonbury, who shared “I always thought drama school was too idealistic for someone from a working class background, and that you could only be an actor if you come from financial stability. Winning this bursary has not just completely changed how I get to spend my final year at drama school, it’s made me realise how much support is out there for those who need it and it’s incredibly heartwarming. I will forever be grateful!”

Jasmine has not only been awarded the Laurence Olivier Bursary for her exceptional talent she is awarded the Behrens Foundation Bursary in conjunction with the Laurence Oliver bursary!

The Laurence Olivier bursaries are awarded to exceptional drama school students, providing them vital financial support as they enter their final year of training. Now in its 38th year, the bursary scheme was established in 1987 to celebrate Laurence Olivier’s 80th birthday and continues to champion the next generation of acting talent.

Nominees are put forward by drama schools across the UK and invited to audition on a West End stage. Each nominee is also interviewed by a panel of leading theatre professionals, chaired by SOLT President and National Theatre Productions’ Executive Producer, Kash Bennet.
