First things first, sorry Ma.
.
After my surgery last November, I told myself that I would let my hair grow for a year…just to see what happens.
.
I lasted 9 months.
.
And you know what? Kudos to me because I really tried, but after another failed attempt at styling my hair after watching another online tutorial, I finally decided to put the comb down and go back to what I know. Being bald.
.
Some people have the gift and patience for hair, and at 40 years old, I’m confident in the knowledge that that’s not my ministry right now, and I’m not one to operate outside of the gifts God gave me - especially when hair care products cost so much.
.
So, I’m going back to my $25 haircuts and enjoying being able to sleep in a few minutes longer because I don’t have to deal with hair. I appreciated the journey, but I can’t say that I miss it. ✂️💇🏾‍♀️ by @jasminedavina86

Today, I watched a lady try 3 times to reverse her car into a parking space, only to STILL have her back tire over the line before getting out of her car…and the first person that came to my mind was my dad - Linwood Taylor.
.
As I was laughing and pulling out of my spot - that I maneuvered into perfectly the first time - all I could do was look up and thank both my Heavenly Father and my father in Heaven for my excellent driving skills. I learned from the best, and I hope my driving skills are still making you proud Pops.

Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow. I made it to 40!
.
I’m so grateful for all of the lessons my 30s taught me. I’m thankful for the experiences I was able to have. I’m blessed for all of the ways my past has shaped who I am today.
.
I’m excited for what’s in store. I’m excited for the knowledge I’ll gain, the people I’ll meet, the love I’ll get to share, and the new experiences I’ll get to have.
.
My first goal of 40 has already been crossed off - I woke up on my birthday outside of the contiguous states, and now I am refreshed and ready to start this new chapter.
.
Thank you to all who have celebrated this milestone by sharing your love. I love you to the moon and back, and I can’t wait to share the awesome things in store for the next 10 years…at least we know there’ll be no surprise baby announcements thanks to November’s hysterectomy! 🙌🏾😜

God hears and answers prayers.
.
When I first got the notice to appear for jury duty, I was not impressed. In all the things I dream of, listening to testimony and judging my fellow man is not one of them. But, because I didn’t want to be fined, I got up and got myself together.
.
Walls of snow were not an excuse to miss it, so I made my walk to the train station and made it to the courthouse in the freezing cold.
.
I didn’t know what to expect, but the whole time I was praying they would release me, mainly so that I could enjoy a day off from work. And when they showed us that tacky video about the joys of serving on a jury and whatnot, I knew I wasn’t built for this.
.
And God agreed.
.
Because after about 4 questions from the judge, 2 from one of the lawyers, and about 2 minutes of discussion, they chose to excuse me. My God on today!
.
Listen, I understand that some people enjoy justice in a way that makes them great for this thing, but my heart really wasn’t in it today, and I know I didn’t have the attention span to listen to evidence and testimony before judging someone - even if it was a simple OUI case.
.
I thank God for this day of rest. I think God for the groceries in my home. And I thank God for my comfortable bed and good sleep.
.
I’ll be back in the grind tomorrow.
