Seeing the term “villager” all over social media lately made me reflect, because it quietly named a role I’ve carried in almost every circle I’m in (or at least try to be).

They say to have a village, you have to be a villager. But the truth is, grace looks like recognizing that not everyone has the capacity or time to be one right now, and that is okay. That’s why we need people whose default instinct is just to keep connections pulsing, check in when it’s quiet, and weave people together who need each other.

At the deepest level, being a villager isn’t a checklist or an obligation—it’s the gentle calling to build a little pocket of home where people can feel safe, seen, and deeply loved.

More than anything, I’ve learned that wanting to care for others like this is simply an overflow of His love pouring through us. 🤍

This post can’t encapsulate all the precious memories made this year but I hope it can show how good God was this 2025.

I was surrounded by so much love in every passing moment, through family, friends, and my church community (which the photos highlight). It was a year of making deeper connections with people but even more with myself.

Here’s just a few statements/words that could describe the past 12 months:

• Plot twists and answered prayers.
• Dates. With friends and solo.
• Trying new things I was scared to try before.
• Major highs and dark lows.
• Laughter.
• Quiet and loud tears.
• Wonder and adventure.
• Discoveries and first times. Places, food, activities, and new parts of myself.
• New skills.
• Friendship.
• Flowers, matcha, coffee, and hojicha.
• Goodness and mercy and grace.

Thank you Jesus for everything!
