UGLY MV for @dolla.official - Almost half a year after the last DOLLA project was taken down, Andrew came to me one day in July: “Want to do another DOLLA MV? Let’s make it big & bring it back to Malaysian culture with a twist.” That conversation led us to Mahsuri’s legend, a story of false accusation & a curse said to bring 7 gen of misfortune. Through DOLLA’s lens, we reimagined it as 3 misunderstood women reclaiming their power & rewriting their endings. Everything was shot in one long day, moving between forest, rumah kampung, makeshift blue sceeen, from hot sun to a night in the forest battling mosquitoes, then came roughly 100 VFX and 3D shots, with just over a month + for post. Snippets from SIZZLE MV - a @nonawav × @mlbbesports_official collaboration ✨ I’ve been a huge fan of no na since their debut last year, so getting to work with my favourite girl group truly feels like a dream come true. Despite a tight timeline plus a few unforeseen challenges in post, the team pushed through and made it happen. “你想得美 - Nice Try” - @fffirdhaus 菲道尔 I’ve worked with Firdhaus since the start of my career, and I’ve always known him as someone who works really hard and pushes himself tirelessly which led him to rise to fame & tour across countries. But at the end of last year, he fell from fame, weighed down by hate and cyberbullying. Wounded but unbroken, he pushed through rejection and pain, eventually returning to the big stage stronger than before. This song was written from his real life experience, so we shaped the MV with metaphoric visuals — each scene reflecting a stage of his journey. At its heart lies the symbol of “打不死的小强” — the unkillable cockroach, resilient and unyielding, standing stronger than ever with his major comeback. QUESTION ❓- @dolla.official A fun project from last year that we never really got the chance to properly share. It was taken down from YouTube Malaysia after receiving public feedback that some felt the visuals were too revealing. 好好吃飯 - Eat Well by @fffirdhaus & @jerylleex It’s been a while since I last shared a project, & this one we approached differently back in April 2025— it’s also my first time working with virtual production and blending it with CG with the team. “好好吃飯 - Eat Well” might sound like a random title, but that’s what makes it warm. Instead of “I miss you,” it’s simply “remember to eat well.” So we took the MV beyond — into outer space, where across galaxies, no matter the distance, we’ll always find our way closer to the ones we love. Before the month ends, sharing one of my recent MV projects — MWA! that dropped earlier this May — this time in a BTS reel 👁️ It was my first time working with @dolla.official, a girl group I’ve long admired (& proudly made in Malaysia) Grateful to @shenrongysw and @universalmusic_my for having me on board, and for the trust from both the label and the girls.
