for every version of me to belong.

in the hands that raised me, and the roots that still remember me

I love you.

in learning that receiving could be sacred, too.

She had no idea how many times we had to become.

I spent so much time learning how to walk home 🪻🪷💫

Your birthday. My best friend. Another goal.
A life still becoming.

Maybe home was never one place.
Maybe it was everything I loved enough to carry with me.
Happiest birthday my dear, I miss you so much. 💜

In the love, I left behind.

And this year, I learned to let it pour back.

In the rooms that learned my name

sometimes it’s slow and soft

but she would learn that becoming asks something of you

whether it becomes shelter for someone else

in what found its way back to me,
no matter where I go

but becoming never required me to leave it behind.

and beginning without becoming any less of myself
