i’ve tried to articulate the words to describe the heart ache and confusion you’ve left us all in but - nothing. just unanswered questions. i never thought i’d be having to think about anything of the sort and especially happening to YOU. it wasn’t meant to happen like this.

my kody, you dont deserve this ending. time and time again the universe threw unimaginable battles at you and you NEVER got knocked down so far you couldn’t get back up. and when you did get knocked down, you got up smiling. that’s how it’s been, always. we never thought anything could take you down kody. becoming your friend at such a young age, i was quick to notice and admire how strong you are. not only that but also how kind you are, how selfless you are, how you can make anyone and everyone love you, how full of love you are, your resilience - your ambition, how much pride you take in your career, how family oriented you are, your sense of humour and your motherly instincts. all you ever wanted to do was help and give back.
i am so lucky and thankful to have spent through your early teens to early twenties being one of your closest pals. you’ve taught me and showed me things that i’ll forever be appreciative to you for. although you are younger than me you’ve always treated me as a little sister and protected me as if i was. growing up without any, i was lucky enough to choose you and have you choose me. you show me an unconditional love and loyalty that is so rare. you inspire so many people to want to be better and make significant impacts on everyone’s life you enter. you could touch peoples souls just from a few interactions.

the morning you left, you took a huge part of me and a huge part of the good/light in the world with you. your smile could power an entire country and your laugh is so infectious it’s almost its own disease. everyday is dedicated to you my girl, we will make you proud and keep your name living. to say i’m going to miss you doesn’t even touch the surface. those words aren’t enough.
