WHAT A FÜCKING THRILL THAT WASSS…

For some people the best day of their life looks like having their first born, their wedding day, buying a house… WELL MINE LOOKS LIKE THIS:

Running a marathon thru the streets of New York City for the first time ever in my life.
Never in a million years would I have thought that I would be taking life to this extreme but when you live life as crazy as I do and just want a little piece of everything on the table then you will probably end up doing such things lol.

For the ones that don’t know me like that, I was born in the Dominican Republic, my dad brought me and my siblings here when I was 15 (I’m the oldest sibling). So I have been living here for about 14 years now. I used to play baseball in the DR but never developed a love for any sports (which is crazy to say for a “male” bartender lmao). Came here and never played any sports In high school. Was it a language barrier? Maybe but not nah I just never really fit in that category lol.

Fast forward to maybe a year and a half ago I started running and finally found a passion in other than being a WILD bird and if you know me then you know not much have changed lmao… I would go out and drink Til 5am and still be able to run a fast 5k the next day but again if you would’ve asked me to do something like that 2 years ago I would’ve laughed at you. Well things have kinda changed:

I have somehow caught up to my age and realized I have a mom that loves me more than anything, I finally became an uncle to the cutest and happiest little version of me, my siblings and dad love me, my family prays for my wellbeing and I have the bestest most supportive friends in the world ❤️‍🔥

To everyone who donated to my fundraiser and to everyone who showed up and supported me, I DID THIS BECAUSE OF YOU AND FOR YOU! I can’t put the words together to tell yall how much fire you put in my heart to run 26.2 miles in 3 hours and 30 mins none stop and to still think that it was such an easy race it’s FUCKING WILD (yeah call me a psycho)

To my @og.runclub thank you for giving me the space to feel welcomed and for the community that brings so many like minded people together.

As many of you know, I have been running for a few months now. Running has become my home away from home and there’s nothing I would love more than to keep running and now even more since I’m doing it with the purpose of helping this great cause.

I started running around the time that the 2024 TCS NYC MARATHON was happening and I kept watching clips all over social media, Instagram, TikTok, etc… The feeling of accomplishment on the runners’ faces did something to me and I told myself that I was going to be running the 2025 TCS NYC MARATHON not only because I would love to experience that feeling I saw on their faces but because I’ve finally found something that I’m truly passionate about and would love to keep doing it for as long as I can.

As many others, I tried getting in through the lottery since its was too late to go thru the 9 +1 process but unfortunately I wasn’t selected on the drawing. So, I have decided to Run thru a charity and Samaritans of NY caught my eyes right away.

Mental health is very important and something we as a society sometimes don’t take very seriously. It is something we need to prioritize more each and every day and be a helping hand to those in need. I personally in the past have been a victim of my own dark thoughts but with the right help and the right people around me I was able to pull myself out of that dark hole.

Running plays a major part in the wellbeing of my mental and physical health and that’s why I have chosen to run with this organization. By helping raise money for Samaritans of New York for suicide prevention we can help this organization be of a helping hand to those in need by providing the necessary resources and tools to help them.

I would like to thank each and everyone of you in advance for your generosity and for helping me accomplish this amazing goal. Thank you so much, it truly means the world to me.

Always remember,

YOU ARE NOT ALONE.

(If you would like to help me reach my goal of raising $4000 by donating or even just by sharing, the link is on my bio) THANK YOU AGAIN 💜 by @jason.diaz02

Day 2: Men’s doubles Open division 2026 NYC HYROX

Just wow! Coming out of that first race on Saturday the first thing that went thru my mind was this was my last year doing hyrox but that thought didn’t last very long.

A week before tickets dropped for NYC I had asked @j_barnola if he would be down to do doubles with me this year and after giving it some thought he said yes. Now, jimmy’s time for his singles debut last year was somewhere between 1:11-1:12 I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) - yeah I know a mf beast 🔥
A few weeks after we signed up for the race an unfortunate circumstance came into play where jimmy had to get surgery (needed it done asap) and the given recovery time was 2 months - this was 3 months before race day I believe!

Everything went perfect with the surgery thank God! Fast forward to a week before race day, jimmy and I finally saw eachother outside of OG and agreed that we had no crazy expectations for this race given the fact that we had NOT trained together a single class, jimmy was off from working out and running for two months and then there was I going on a bender for a whole month lmao and most importantly we both raced solo the day before lol so there was a lot of things to take into consideration.

1:10:17 was our time for our first doubles ever and I’m so Goddamn proud of that. That race gave me life! I had a fun time doing it and gave me every reason to come back for more next year so that being said:

- I’ll be coming for that 1:10 solo next year 🚀
- @j_barnola and I will also be running back together for 1:00-1:05 🔥
- @d_adames27 will be taking on Pro doubles division together 😮‍💨

Thank you @jeanetteh_12 for getting me thru 100 unbroken wallballs! that’s was fucking electric 🤪 and also thank you for all the hard work you put in at OG to get us all ready for race day. You are a mastermind and truly one of a kind 🫶🏼❤️ by @jason.diaz02

Day 1 - Open solo 2026 NYC HYROX

So many mixed feelings about this race. This was my second hyrox ever since I first competed last year in NYC!

My time from 2025 (1:23) given the fact that it was my first hyrox ever, the course set up as well as the conditions I wasn’t mad about my time; I went in with a very ambitious goal of hitting 1:10 last year just to realize that it’s not as easy as one might think it is. When I decided to finally run it back this year my only goal after signing up for open singles was to beat my time from last year and trying to go after that 1:10 again lol!

20 mins before the race @j_barnola and I decided to check out my splits from last year’s race and noticed how I messed up on my runs - the times did not make sense lol, most of my runs were 6 mins and change. Given the fact that we were just talking about that 20 mins before taking off on Saturday one would think that I would pay more attention to my laps this time around. Guess what? I DID IT AGAIN 😂😂😭

I still ended up getting a 2 min PR but if I didn’t fuck up on 4 of my runs by doing an extra lap oh boi would I have gotten close to that 1:10 goal time.

Overall had a great experience, loved the course this year and had great time cheering on people and throwing down some Kona’s afterwards.

Word of advice: watch your laps - don’t be like me 😂

It doesn’t get better than this!

Had the best time this past Sunday at the OG 5k - running in the pouring rain while surrounded by the best people.

Placed 1st in my age group with a time of 19:46:11 and got 8th place overall! taken in Belmont Lake State Park by @jason.diaz02

This past Saturday I had the privilege of running the Brooklyn half marathon and to say I had a great time doing it is an understatement.

Hitting a 1:31 time wasn’t on my plans. As a lot of you know I said I was running this race for fun because I personally don’t think I was in the shape to shoot for a PR so in my mind anything under 2 hours was what I was going for and I wouldn’t have been mad with whatever results I got because I know I haven’t been consistent with putting in work between other things 🤪

In this race I probably had the most fun I’ve ever had running besides when I ran the NYC marathon last year. Had perfect running weather conditions (IMO), all the amazing strangers cheering you on, the course was great, the sprinklers throughout the course made me feel like a kid again (stopped to go thru every single one of them 😂) and to whoever gave me that wine and bread on the race YOU ARE A REAL ONE LMAOO!

Thank you to my dear friend @concreterose809 for helping me run this race! Love you and I’m so proud of you! KEEP KILLING IT!

Congratulations to everyone who ran 😋🫶🏼 looking forward to doing it all over again next year! taken in Brooklyn, New York by @jason.diaz02

What a privilege it is to be surrounded by so many amazing individuals! this race was so much more than just a “5K”.
Having people in your corner who just want you to win will always be top tier so remember that when choosing the people you want in your circle!

I know this was only a 5k but this race had me in shambles 😂
I don’t think I have ever been so nervous about anything in my life before. The week leading up to it I lost sleep every night overthinking every single thing about this race (I didn’t lose sleep over my first half/full marathon lol) so many runners underestimate short races when those end up being the hardest imo!

I had two very ambitious goals and I knew it was gonna be hard to accomplish them;
1. PR my 5k with sub 18 mins.
2. Take first place.

I was HUMBLED to not have met either of those goals and I am not going to lie I was very upset with my results because I know the potential I have and I know I could’ve done it. The little voice inside of my head won this time and I had to stop 3 times in between the race which I’m so surprised I still had a 19:50 finishing time and PR my 1 mile with a time of 5:24.

This is just the beginning and I’ll not be backing down from those goals next year!

Thank you to all the friends, family and coaches who believed in me and special thanks to @jeanetteh_12 you carried me to that finished line I had nothing left in me and seeing you run next to me gave me that extra push ❤️❤️ by @jason.diaz02
