July 2026 photo update

Booked a photoshoot so I can take some photos before production was going to buzz my hair short.

Turns out they didn't need to 😮‍💨😮‍💨 PTL 🙌

Last Friday I had the opportunity to learn from the legendary 🎬⭐ @tetsuroshimaguchi, founder of @samurai.kengido.uk. Big thanks to @adrian.falconer and @taka.strike.club for organizing 🤩

This was my first traditional sword class, and I walked in expecting flashy moves, but instead found traditional, practical, and grounded, relaxed stances, solid fundamentals, and just the right touch of pose here and there (I can still hear Sensei @tetsuroshimaguchi calling out “Pose!” 😎)

Time was tight, so we had only a few attempts to practice a new sequence (apologies for sound quality, you'll hear other peoples' swords clashing in the video). There’s room for improvement, but I’m grateful for every moment 😁

Shoutout to my fight scene partner, Sempai @shinji_kanazawa for your patience and kind guidance 😁🙏

First post in Jun 2026. I've been out for a few weeks but damn - it's been years since I've fallen ill like this.

Everything has been a blur since the beginning of the year...Work, family, training, exams, recovery — rinse and repeat.

We all need a moment for ourselves, friends and family. If the hustle is killing the why, then what are we even doing this for?

Take a step back. Assess. Then keep going.
