In the kitchen lately. by @jasonhudson

Big news!

I’m thrilled to announce I got a cookbook deal with Robert McCullough and Rachel Brown at Appetite (a division of Penguin Random House). It’s called 𝘊𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘦 𝘊𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘗𝘶𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘪𝘦 and it’s part baking book, part Choose Your Own Adventure. Throughout, you’ll see directions like “Pudding this pie!” or “Cookie this cake!”, and I’ll tell you how to turn one delicious thing into a different delicious thing! (If you love my Salted Maple Butter Tart, you’ll absolutely freak out over the Pudding version!)

I’m really excited and very proud and can’t wait to share this process with you. A book! A dream come true.

Starting a European Grid Recap with pictures of myself. A tip for photographers and Moms everywhere: Teach your friends and family how to take pictures so you aren’t a ghost in your own life! Thanks to @brianrieper @knovit and Chris for being a pleasure to have in class. by @jasonhudson

Camping with the love of my life. We laugh more before breakfast than most people do in a whole week. Always my pleasure to take his senior photos year after year. by @jasonhudson

Congratulations to Jason Hudson, whose upcoming debut cookbook has been sold to Rachel Brown at Appetite by Random House by Amy Moore-Benson! 🎉🍪 by @jasonhudson

One year in this dreamy kitchen and some of the things we love.

1. That huge island. 9½ x 3½ feet of empty real estate for all the prepping, entertaining, work-from-homing.
2. Double ovens. We don’t actually use them both at once very often, but when we do, we do.
3. Obviously the peg board of my dreams.
4. Drawers drawers drawers. The best way to store most things.
5. The unlacquered brass hardware is already aging a ton.
6. Fluted glass adds so much sparkle and dimension where slabs of cabinetry would be so monotonous.
7. That off-centre kitchen faucet. Get into it. It’s oriented right above the drain and is so beautifully out of the way.
8. Big deep sink by @kraususa and we live for the drip rack.
9. @Goop x @Ruggable Runner.
10. Lighting. Island pendants: @mullanlighting Sconces: @humanhome.co
11. And a drawer devoted to toffee chips.
