Video dump!!! It was a true honor and joy to be able to play with The Young Mothers/ @theyoungmothersofficial in Poland again. Both @lublinjazz and @intl_jazz_platform treated us very well and we had a more than enthusiastic reception at both festivals. In between festivals we had the chance to get more than a head start on tracking what will eventually be our 4th full length album at @sound.and.wave studios in Warsaw for two inspiring and heavy days. Many thanks to Karøl Kwiatkøwski and his assistant/mixer/master of jokes Szymon Swarc for making that happen and keeping us on task. As always a million thanks and all the appreciation to Malwina @no.earplugs for working out the logistics of all of these travels and for always being a positive force of encouragement. She single handedly breathed new life and value into this band that we were unaware of before meeting her seven years ago. Much love to all of her beautiful family that always celebrate our arrival in Poland with great camaraderie, enthusiasm, food, wine, humor, and music. It was so great to see so many wonderful people: Magda and Daniel(Pardon To Tu), Vasco Trilla, Danny Kamins, Agnieska Biala, Christian Lillinger, Marta Warelis, Tomeka Reid. Lastly we were able to have @salvosoff_the_return join us as a special guest baritone saxophonist on our set at Łodz Intl Jazz Platform and it was invigorating and intensely beautiful. Poland always holds a special place in my heart. So much so that it triggers a sort of heaviness that can at times be difficult to navigate, perhaps because of how much my dad loved it just the same, and all my early memories of playing there with Yells At Eels, when I had barely started understanding my life as a young and inexperienced adult. But I will never take my opportunities and love for the people there for granted. I can’t remember who all took these videos. I just saved them along the way before they expired. If you wish to be credited, all you have to do is let me know. Here’s to another 15 years of playing with The Young Mothers. We will be back! by @jasonjacksonsax
