When I was in Ogunquit in May, @funkemofo mentioned hearing about @grainsurfboards shop down the street. When I found out I was coming back in September, I knew I had to check it out. Mike very graciously showed me around and the community at large welcomed me with open arms. I managed to try 14 different paipos over the course of five weeks, getting in the ocean almost daily. This is me and the boards I rode!

On the last show day I drove up to Kennebunkport and caught the biggest heaviest waves I've ever attempted thanks to the Nor'Easter swell coming in hot. A kind photographer on the beach took this photo after, and I can only describe my smile as "I can't believe I did that and survived too." Shoutout @yuccafins for helping me get out back!

Another photographer managed to catch me in action too (and this was the smallest wave I caught that day)! I was thinking about cutting off my hair too, but now that I see how much it adds to the aesthetic I'm not getting rid of it, at least not yet.

And on my very last day in Maine, the legend @jonwegenersurfboards taught me to build a paipo myself while we had great discussions about Broadway, the joys and challenges of making a band, building alternative careers, and our frequented SoCal spots. Happy closing to The Producers! A few months ago I played the auditions for this production helmed by @jamesnycgray and said dang I wish I could do that show. And then fate (and @haleybmusic) said we can make that happen!

This is my third production at @ogunquitplayhouse and it only gets better every time. My mom and @liebsonbounds made it out, I did a lot more exploring this time around: toured the @rancourtco factory, visited the new @llbean flagship store, and surfed @grainsurfboards up and down the coast. Tonight closes five glorious weeks as associate md of Ain't Too Proud at Ogunquit with the most killer band. Reunited with my beloved Footbridge Lobster, did a good amount of grilling, and of course frequented the LLBean. Grateful to @kennyjseymour and @haleybmusic for bringing me on. I've been crying all day, nothing but tears of overwhelming joy and gratitude. I'm still in disbelief that I got to conduct a big Broadway musical. And I'm so honored that it was this one. Boop is really special, and everyone who's seen it knows it. It's 2.5 hours of pure musical theater magic with some of the most loving and lovely people on and off stage. Art for young people is one of the most powerful political tools we have, and to be part of a show that preaches love and hope and the power of believing in yourself and the people around you in the face of adversity means I'm living the dream of being a small part of the art I want to see passed down.

Thank you to all my friends who came and supported, to my family for coming in to celebrate with me, to Daryl Waters for putting up with me for years, to Rick Fox for taking a chance on me and giving me the podium for a night, to our incredible orchestra for caring for me so graciously, and to our company for being rockstars.
