Paragon Open

BW: 77.8kg
Total: 647.5kg

GL Points: 92.63

1st 83 Mens
1st Overall Male

Squat: 200/ 212.5/ 225 (+5kg comp best)
Bench: 142 5/ 150/ 157.5 (should've done 160kg)
Deadlift: 245/ 265/ 280x (forgot how to deadlift oops)

Another comp in the books. 2nd comp for the year and more data to work with.

Squat: Squats were feeling ON. They felt the best they have ever felt in prep so coming in confident was great for a change. Finding that I respond well to a little bit of quad volume so just riding this out for a while.

Bench: Bench has been up and down this prep with every 150kg top single moving like an RPE 10 every week. Seemed that I responded very well to the taper as it looked like I would have had 160kg if we loaded it, but of course I wanted to play it safe.

Deadlift: Deads felt good. Apart from the constant cramping, deads were moving like butter. Had to give 280kg a crack for 3rd attempt but had mistimed my lockout leaving me tipping over slightly (and running out of talent).

Thanks @paragon.sp for a great comp.

Big shout out to the Tito @ben_koy . It's great to finally compete together, and thanks for adopting me into your family (for the day)

Big shout to the @spc.performance.lab for the support. 🔥

Thank you to @stephh.s_ for always supporting me even from overseas 💕

Thank you boss man @alex.s.fomin for another great comp. Keen to run it back. by @jasonps.lifts

City Strength Open XXIII

My best performance to date 🔑🔑🔑

Squat: 222.5kg (227.5kg called 2:1 for depth)

Bench: 152.5kg

Deadlift: 282.5kg

Big thank you to everyone for their support.

Thanks to coach @alex.s.fomin not only for the meticulously thought out competition prep, but the continuous motivation to strive for more. I cannot thank you enough. Special mention to second coach @ben_koy for all your efforts on and off the platform. Never goes unnoticed, always bullish.

Shout out to @stephh.s_ for always being in my corner 💕

APA Strength Trialls II recap

BW: 78.7kg (-3.7kg)
Total: 647.5kg (+25kg)

GL Points: 92.09

Squat: 200/ 212.5/ 215 (-5kg comp best)
Bench: 145/ 152.5/ 157.5 (+12.5kg)
Deadlift: 245/ 265/ 275 (+12.5kg)

Not bad for my first comp back in over 2 years hehe.

Squat: Not my best or my worst. I started cramping on second attempt because surprisingly had too much hydralyte (I wasn’t even cutting lol). Definitely could have been better, and still have some more work to do.

Bench: Bench has been crazy this prep and hit 161kg in training. Opted to play it safe with 157.5kg which is still +12.5kg comp PB. On top of that, hitting a 2x body weight bench which is also very cool.

Deadlift: Deads were ON. For the most of prep, they weren’t feeling great mainly due to the fatigue from Primary Squats the day prior. Whilst I’ve pulled more in training, I’m quite happy to have pulled a +12.5kg PB in competition.

Big shout to the @spc.performance.lab crew who showed up to support. 🔥

Thank you to @stephh.s_ for always coming to my meets.💕

Last but not least, thank you to @alex.s.fomin for handling and coaching me. First comp together has been cracked, can’t wait for more. Keen to run it back. taken in All In Barbell by @jasonps.lifts

Great end to the block.

Deadlift: 282.5kg PB (+15kg)
Bench: 147.5kg
Squat: 220kg

Weekly total: 650kg

Body weight average: 74.2kg

It's been a while since we've ran singles on deads, with my best pull being 267.5kg during Nats prep last year. So this is quite nice.

Enjoying this lower body weight too. Time to continue to build.

Deadlift PB: 270kg x 2

This one meant a lot. After missing this at Nats as my final attempt, I had to give it another crack but this time for 2.

APU NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2022

Squat:
207.5kg ✅ 220kg ✅ (Vid 1)227.5kg ❌(Vid 5)

Bench:
137.5kg ✅ 142.5kg ✅ 145kg ✅ (Vid 2)

Deadlift:
245kg ✅ 257.5kg ✅ (Vid 3) 270kg ❌ (Vid 4)

Total: 622.5kg

BW: 82.4kg

First National's competition was definitely an experience. Amazing to be in an atmosphere full of Australia's best lifters.

While my meet day performance wasn't my best, it certainly wasn't my worst.

Squats:
Momentum in training was definitely headed towards an all time PR total with squats being the strongest they have felt. However during the tail end of prep I have been dealing with some left hip pain and with many of day 1 lifters being called for depth, there was some pressure to make sure my squats were convincing enough to pass. With 220kg moving smoothly 227.5kg was the move. During the descent I felt I had sunk it deeper than I am used to throwing me forward onto my toes with no room to recover.

Bench:
After my squat performance the plan was to play it safe to make sure we built a solid total throughout the day. I left it to Alex to make the calls, finishing on 145kg for the day.

Deadlift:
Throughout prep, deadlift has been up and down trying to relearn and improve my technique and it's only recently that momentum started to pick up again. 270-275kg was predicted based on training and with 257.5kg moving descent enough, Alex left it to me to make the final call. 270kg was on. The energy of the crowd was absolutely amazing. I was confident I would make that lift however approaching lockout the bar started to roll out of my left hand. I was gutted, but I knew the strength was there despite the grip.

A big thank you to both @kellymann_performotion and @shania_performotion for their support throughout this prep and this huge year of powerlifting.

A massive thanks goes out to @alex.s.fomin for handling me on the day. So grateful to have your guidance and support.

To my friends and family watching on and supporting thank you so so much! It means a lot to me. Thank you to @steph.shilling_ for your constant support.

Congrats to @anthonyfok10 and @amberchadwick14 on their nationals performance.
