-UPDATE 3/22-

Hi everyone! This is dang late but as some of you already know, we’ve pivoted to a new project! Our love for pizza (it’s like bagels but flat, no hole, and people fold it?) became unwieldy so we wanted to refocus our attention for the time being. To speed things up so we can get back to bagels we’ve created A Million Pizza Challenge @amillionpizza where we video ourselves each week having a little too much fun making 🍕. We hope you’ll go check it out, it’s silly and dumb, but it makes us happy and we still get to play with dough 🙂

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR BAGELS 🥯: We still make bagels! We made these ones ^ this past Sunday and it reminded us how much we love and miss them 🥲 While we don’t have any plans to do formal orders any time soon, if you ever want bagels or to trade something of your own for some, send us a message!!! We’re always happy to bake for people, and it’s easy when it’s casual and small.

Thank you all for the continued support, hoping one day to bring all the pieces together and finally open that bagels in the morning, pizzas at night oasis of our dreams 🥰 Until then ✌️ + 🍕 + 🥯 taken in Portland, Maine by @jaspers.bagels

Weekend field trip to tall building town! Two days is hardly enough time to try it all so we had to do an unfortunate coin toss between 🍕 and 🥯. All tasty, only a few cost $1, but was over the moon to finally try @scarrspizza. Best bite of the weekend, thunder hailstorm be damned. Grateful for a lovely taste-testing crew and an incredible intermission by @americanutopia

Well we’ve graduated, moved to Portland, and work a wonderful summer restaurant job (@terlinguabbq), but hope you are all still looking for your summer dozen. Dm and text for any and all bagel inquiries as we adapt and look for a nice space to boil and bake. We also accept any and all flavor requests, no matter how silly or challenging. taken in Portland, Maine by @jaspers.bagels

What a wonderful Sunday! Thanks to everyone including all the new faces for giving us a chance to try out this dream. Despite ending with 20 more bagels than we originally counted while mixing (numbers confuse us but extra is better than the alternative 😅) we were able to find a home for all 160 bagels, our largest batch yet!

Special love for my partner in dough-related crime Francis, dude shaped nearly every bagel while simultaneously listening to music and a career planning webinar (we’re confident it will come in handy down the road 🥯🍕🏠) Another order coming soon this week or next so keep 👀‘s peeled for a post. Reach out if you have questions, ideas, or just wanna say hey 👋

GOOD MORNING MAINE 👋

We’re back in the big kitchen this Sunday, kneading by hand and pondering why we have an industrial mixer in a garage 2500+ miles away 🤔 Order form link is in the bio 🕹 While we do love delivering, pickup is also an option for those who want their bagels right out of the oven (or later if you wanna sleep in 🤗)

Thanks to all the new followers and to the @bowdoinorient for the lovely article. Still have no clue what I’m doing but I feel inspired to do it now more than ever. Tried adding a twist cause 🤷‍♂️. Someone asked about seeing the inside, thank you I was hungry so this worked out well. Trying to do an order soon, more to come ✌️

Restrictions lead to creativity! Had a lovely time talking my grandmother through making bagels for the first time while I stood outside the house. “That’s all? I could see myself doing this every week.” Not sure this would have happened otherwise, honored to be able to pass on a lesson in the other direction and lucky to have the special time. She’s a prodigy.

They call it a test run for a reason! Adjusting to new spaces and larger quantities comes with a learning curve and alas we ended up with some real over-proofed dough balls... It happens 🤷‍♂️ Luckily, they still taste as delicious as ever and we’re on our way to deliver this morning. We’re happy to offer refunds or 50% off on your next order. It will be great, all is up from here! ✌️ taken in Brunswick, Maine by @jaspers.bagels

A batch before their nice 24-hour rest in the fridge when they are all simply just bagels.
