A Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and author of 100+ scientific publications, he has spent his career across research, technology and innovation ecosystem development. Today, he also leads the Sustainable Innovation and Technology Foundation.

Building startups looks very different when you’ve been on both sides of the table.

Before leading JAS Venture Studio, Nayla built a startup herself, worked inside the innovation ecosystem at Nazarbayev University, and saw firsthand how much has to happen between a promising technology and a real company.

The missing part is usually everything around it: market, product, team, business model, commercialization.

That’s exactly the gap a venture studio is built to work in.
