A rare look at Carnival Jubilee’s Lido deck before the crowds arrive.

This was around 10:55 AM, shortly after we boarded as non-sailing wedding guests. Very few passengers were onboard yet, giving us a chance to walk around Decks 16 and 17 while everything was still quiet.

Probably the emptiest you’ll ever see the Jubilee’s Lido deck.

LUNCH ON CARNIVAL JUBILEE — WITHOUT ACTUALLY SAILING

After boarding Carnival Jubilee as non-sailing wedding guests, one of our first stops was Guy’s Burger Joint.

This was around 11:45 a.m., and by then embarkation was well underway. Plenty of sailing guests were already onboard, so the ship was starting to come alive and the area around Guy’s was getting busy.

I didn’t film the actual line or ordering process — this is more of a quick look at the area, the atmosphere onboard and a little of the Port of Galveston from Jubilee.

And yes, as non-sailing wedding guests, we could eat at the complimentary venues onboard.

There was something pretty funny about sitting on Jubilee eating a Guy’s Burger alongside people beginning their vacation…while knowing our visitor passes said 2:30 p.m. disembarkation.

They were starting their cruise.

BOARDING CARNIVAL JUBILEE — WITHOUT ACTUALLY GOING ON A CRUISE.

Today I had a pretty unique opportunity to board Carnival Jubilee in Galveston as a non-sailing guest for a wedding onboard the ship.

Our morning started on The Strand before we made our way to Terminal 25, where the wedding party met as a group.

We were escorted inside, issued Carnival Visitor Passes, went through the normal security process and waited inside the terminal until Carnival’s wedding coordinators were ready for us.

Then we headed down the gangway and stepped aboard Jubilee on Deck 6.

The interesting part? We weren’t just brought onboard for the ceremony and immediately sent back off.

As wedding guests, we were able to spend several hours aboard Jubilee, attend the wedding and reception, have lunch and explore many of the ship’s public areas before our required 2:30 p.m. disembarkation.

It was definitely a different way to experience a cruise ship — especially knowing everyone else boarding that morning was getting ready to sail while we knew we’d be heading back to Galveston a few hours later.
