4 years ago I never thought I would’ve graduated. I came into Wingate not caring about a education, just wanting to have fun. My freshman year I finished with a 0.38 gpa resulting in me having to leave Wingate to get myself together. During that time I dealt with a emotionally abusing and physical relationship, and the death of my grandma and uncle which resulted in me having to leave Wingate again, because I didn’t care enough to go to classes and was in such a low state of mind.
May 9th I graduate Wingate University with a 3.5 GPA, while also finally bringing the Oh So Pretty Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated to my campus🪞. To my line sisters, thank you for believing in me and trusting me to do this for 2 years, now we’re finally charter members. To my family, yall never gave up on me, I don’t know where I would be without yall, to my sister, thank you for constantly praying over me when I couldn’t even do it for myself. To my friends, words can’t explain how much I needed yall and it all came together at the right time. To the people who helped me bring the Sorority, I cant thank you enough for your helping me.
If you feel like you can’t do it somedays, that’s okay just continue trusting in God and his plan. I would be lost if it wasn’t for Him.
I’ll be graduating with a major in Educational Studies with a minor Humanities and will be back at Wingate for my Masters of Art in Teaching 👩🏽‍🏫 taken in Wingate University by @javanatorii
