Many new people are here, it’s crazy. I guess this is becoming a thing, and I need to do an intro, so hi!

If you’re new here or you’re an OG, introduce yourself in the comments with a very fun fact about you! I hope you don’t eat semo, sha.

Welcome to my community ❤️ by @javedd.vo

you’re working through your invisible years. by @javedd.vo

“Make it exist first, then make it perfect”

The reason I’ve been publicly documenting the journey of building Shinzen is because I want to pass across this very ideal.

One of the things I seem to be good at is execution, especially when it has to do with my ideas. I realized along the way that what comes naturally to me might not come naturally to other people, and so I decided to document publicly, to show that it’s not magic, it’s not juju, just “do it”.

You can only build confidence by proving to yourself over and over again that you are who you say you are. There’s no affirming your way into self confidence. You have to stack up proof.

Shinzen Lagos was an item in my notes app in January of 2025, and I’m excited to have brought this to life, alongside @marhvey_ , and our team of volunteers @blossom__ub @adelekefeyi @elvis.nwoko @talia.oe @ti.oluu @f.avourrr

People came in from Ibadan, surprised me from UK, and travelled from different parts to attend this event. I cannot be more grateful.

To every single person who bought a ticket, and thought that their money and their time was worth investing with us, thank you. It’s still day 1, we’re still chasing the next conversation, and God is always glorified.

To my amazing speakers and facilitators, @makua.ugwunze @leaderbill_ @ibiyemi_shindara and our ethereal performer @chimamaka_adeniyi , thank you for pouring yourselves out to the community. God bless you.

To the newly built Shinzen community, keep your eyes peeled, Lagos today, London soon. It’s still Day 1🤞🏽

Before you add more speed to your current momentum, ask yourself:

1. Did I choose this goal, or did I inherit it?
2. If nobody ever applauded it, would I still want it?
3. Is this set of actions getting me closer, or just keeping me busy?

Save this for the next time you feel busy but stuck in a position you don’t like. by @javedd.vo

Grateful . by @javedd.vo

Took a bit of time off to breathe and and take in the end of an era. I started doubling down on content here, coming in as early as 6am to make videos. Grew from a little over 2k to closing in on 5k followers

Not to talk of the actual legal work haha. Learnt so much about the banking industry, and the legal and governance aspects of it, and even though I’m not sure what my career will ultimately look like, I know that no knowledge is definitely wasted.

Super grateful to @africaeverywherefestival for the opportunity to do this, and I will definitely share more of what I learned in the coming days.

Thank you @ubagroup for an amazing amazing time. by @javedd.vo
