Last weekend I completed the Race for Life 5K Mud Run 🩷

This one was for my Jenny 🥰

Truthfully, I can’t quite comprehend that we’re already in July. My brain still feels like it’s stuck in February some days.

As time has passed, my life has felt quite stagnant. I’ve been struggling to show up for myself. Each day seems to merge into one and I’ve been struggling to return to normal.

I had a little cry on my way to the race, but I kept reminding myself why I was there and carried on.

This race was always about honouring Jenny’s legacy. I wasn’t expecting the change in perspective that came with it.

Somewhere between the mud, the obstacles and the water, I just kept going.

As I crossed the finish line I looked up and started to cry. She wasn’t there, but I knew she’d be proud. In that moment I realised that no matter what I do in life, she will always be proud of me, and her energy will always be present.

That’s something I can carry with me.

I’ve spent months feeling like moving forward with my life meant I was leaving her behind.

But it doesn’t.

It means learning to adapt so I can carry her with me on my journey.

The little girl in me will always cry for Jenny, but the woman in me is learning to live in a way that makes her proud.

Here’s to showing up, even when it’s hard. You never know what showing up for yourself might teach you.

Dear family and friends of myself and Jenny.

It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that I am writing this to announce the passing of my honorary mother, my bestfriend and my whole heart - Jenny Komarynskyj on Thursday the 12th of February following a long fight against a terminal illness. Although Jen took a sudden turn towards the end, her passing was peaceful at home and surrounded by those she loved most 🤍

Jenny’s funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday 18th March at Oak Chapel Crematorium, followed by a wake at The Kings Head in Bishops Cleeve. We would like to invite you to join us to share your stories and celebrate her life.

As you all know my Jenny was the purest soul to walk this earth and in oppose to flowers Jenny’s wish was for food donations to be made to the Cat Protection in Evesham. We kindly ask that you don’t bring any food on the day, however if you’re not able to make donations yourself then Alexander Burn will take monetary donations which will be handled on your behalf.

Can I kindly ask those who are attending to wear something purple where possible as this was Jennys favourite colour 💜

Currently in the process of building something I wish existed when I was drowning in silence at 16.

If I am honest I never started The SurviveHer because I have it all figured out…. I started it because I don’t. This space is to heal others by sharing knowledge and ways I have began to heal myself in the last 5 years. This platform is for those of us who have ever felt broken, blamed, ashamed or alone because of something terrible that happened to us.

The SurviveHer is for every survivor no matter your gender, no matter your story this is our journey.
Together our stories matter and together we will get through it ❤️‍🩹
