2025 @drexelpubhealth Golden Apple Faculty Teaching Award ⭐️ So very thankful and humbled to have been given this wonderful gift, and to be part of a line of excellent educators at Dornsife. It’s been a tough few weeks but it means the world to hear the lovely commendations from students and colleagues. Also very happy to contribute a grain of sand into what I hope is a legacy of growth and professional reflection.

I’m happy to report that I’ve been promoted to Associate Teaching Professor!

There were so many moments I almost convinced myself I wasn’t enough for this path. So many quiet sacrifices, exhausting nights, and invisible labor no title will ever fully capture.

And honestly? Getting here means even a ton to me because I got here without shrinking myself to fit academia’s idea of who I was supposed to be. I’ve always been a little too loud, too passionate, too emotional, too honest, too “unprofessional.” I’ve marched to the beat of my own drum even when it cost me opportunities, comfort, approval, and belonging. I fought for and earned this.

I also would not have made it through some of the hardest moments this last year without the love and support of my dear husband, Cody, and my incredible colleagues, Liz, Jen and Amy. Thank you for being my cheerleaders, and for listening to my rants all year long. I’m so grateful 🖤 by @javier.lopez1
