When a baseball player looks back as his career and life most tell that the greatest memory they have is spending time with their dad! Not just the process for obtaining results, but the process of building the Father-Son relationship that led you to this game and where you are right now. The process of making memories that last a life time. When you reflect back on what seems like “a grind” or “boring, ordinary time spent with your son” or “worried if they got a hit or won the game” you’ll realize that these were extraordinary moments that you’d give anything to experience just one more time. Turn an ordinary moment into an extra-ordinary moment. Because I can promise you one thing, it’s these moments that your son will remember the rest of his life. It’s the time spent with his Dad that’s most important. Make every moment you spend with your son count because you never know when it will be the last. We invite all fathers to add a chapter to this process with their son and create a memory that will last a lifetime at www.javillabaseball.com #dominicanrepublicbaseball #mlb #baseball #travelbaseball #showcasebaseball #javillabaseball 💯⚾️🇩🇴🇺🇸 taken in Academia La Javilla by @javillabaseball

Repetition is the Key… It has been said over and over again that baseball is a game of repetition. How many people hear that, but don’t actually believe it… and if they do believe it, how many actually follow through on the repetition part?! So how many reps is enough?

When it comes to fielding, we HIGHLY recommend all of our players take between 200 and 300 ground balls per day.

Without consistent work of a high number of repetitions, your body will not become coordinated enough to look good taking ground balls. Without playing enough long toss, your arm will not have a base of strength to truly be as strong and healthy as it can be!

When it comes to hitting, the same mentality holds true. These swings can be off of a tee, front toss, batting practice or live at bats. These swings are to groove your mechanics to the point where your swing becomes easy!

Every single great hitter we have ever coached or come across has all done this… They live in the cage!

There is only one way to know if you got enough repetitions in that day: When you look at yourself in the mirror, can you say you did everything you could to become as great as you could be?

When you step on the field, are you 100% confident because you know you did everything in your power to prepare? When it comes to work ethic, leave NO DOUBT that you are ready to go!

Without the sheer volume of ground balls, throws, swings etc… that are necessary, it is IMPOSSIBLE to become great in baseball! No matter whether or not you have the size and strength at the moment that will come, you will NOT be a College or MLB player without the repetition.

We invite you to see how your work ethic stacks up and put a game plan together at www.javillabaseball.com #dominicanrepublicbaseball #mlb #baseball #collegebaseball #highschoolbaseball #travelbaseball #homeschoolbaseball #showcasebaseball #javillabaseball 💯⚾️🇩🇴🇺🇸 taken in Academia La Javilla by @javillabaseball

Process Over Outcome… Success as a pitcher is all about making good pitches. Take care of your approach, focus on executing good pitches, and good results will come… Never let a bad outcome negatively affect your approach. Bad stuff in the game and life is going to happen– you’re not always going to get the results you’re looking for. But when you learn to detach yourself somewhat from the outcome, and focus on the process – doing your best in every given situation – things have a way of working out in the end. We’re all blessed with certain abilities and talents. But as you move up the ladder (in baseball and in life) you begin to realize there’s much more to high achievement than raw ability. If you want to unlock your true potential, you’ve gotta put in the work. If you feel like you do the work but with a lot of soul searching… you know you want to dig deeper and find out what you’re made of… if you’re never tested, how do you know? We invite you to seize an opportunity to climb that ladder a little faster as a pitcher and compete against international hitters or vice versa as a hitter to compete against international pitchers we welcome you to train, play and test your skills at the next level at www.javillabaseball.com #dominicanrepublicbaseball #mlb #baseball #collegebaseball #highschoolbaseball #travelbaseball #showcasebaseball #homeschoolbaseball #javillabaseball 💯⚾️🇩🇴🇺🇸 taken in Academia La Javilla by @javillabaseball

Baseball spoken here: two languages, a single idiom, interpreted perfectly on the diamond by those who live every strike, every catch, every homerun; and suffer after every error, every strike-out. Not only has baseball helped strengthen the Dominican Republic’s relationship with the United States, but it also had a massive effect on the culture of the Dominican Republic as a whole. Nowadays, baseball symbolizes a dream and hope for a better future for aspiring athletes and helps unite baseball fans and players, young and old, english and spanish speaking families from around the world. “Every day is a new opportunity. You can build on yesterday’s success or put its failures behind and start over again. That’s the way life is, with a new game every day, and that’s the way baseball is.” Habits learned on the baseball field like dealing with failure, keeping calm under pressure, and presenting yourself as a humble person, benefit people during the course of their lives. The key is to become the best version of yourself every single day. Wearing your smile amidst calamity and struggle can be difficult, but it becomes an enjoyable endeavor if you see your loved ones and teammates smile because of you. Baseball is indeed one of the greatest sports of all time and it teaches you how to score runs in the game of life as well. We invite players, teams, families to join us at www.javillabaseball.com #dominicanrepublicbaseball #mlb #baseball #travelbaseball #homeschoolbaseball #javillabaseball 💯⚾️🇩🇴🇺🇸 taken in Academia La Javilla by @javillabaseball

THE ART OF BASEBALL…
THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC IS THE SYNONYM OF BASEBALL
Baseball is one of the central elements of Dominican culture and seems to have been linked to our concept as a nation since it arrived to the country from Cuba at the end of the 19th century. “Baseball is Life” is not just a saying here on a t-shirt it is the way of life, a connection to the United States and other nations, and the dream of social ascension for a large part of Dominican youth to become Major League Baseball players. You can not duplicate that passion anywhere else in the world only experience it first hand for yourself at www.javillabaseball.com #dominicanrepublicbaseball #baseball #travelbaseball #showcasebaseball #highschoolbaseball #collegebaseball #mlb #javillabaseball 💯⚾️🇩🇴🇺🇸 taken in Academia La Javilla by @javillabaseball
