THE SANCTUARY "Echoes of the Unknown" AW24 The Sixth and Final ensemble in this collection encapsulates the profound theme of loss and sudden upheaval. Its structure meticulously recreates the haunting scene of my childhood home engulfed in flames, rendering my family and me instantly homeless. In the aftermath, a profound sense of hopelessness enveloped me, for the cherished sanctuary where I had spent the better part of my life was forever lost. With almost everything consumed by the inferno, our future appeared uncertain and bleak. Yet, amidst the ashes, we clung steadfastly to the beauty of our shared memories, forging a new path toward happiness. THE WATCHED "Echoes of the Unknown" AW24 Collection Look Five epitomizes the Fear of Surveillance, a constant shadow in the life of someone that suffers with anxiety. This pervasive fear distorts self-perception, tethering it to the gaze of others. Yet, amidst this feeling, this ensemble serves as a beacon of defiance, radiating with unyielding confidence. It symbolizes the triumph of self-assurance over the grip of external judgment, boldly presenting an authentic self to the world, regardless of the watchful eyes that surround. THE WEEPING SHADOW "Echoes of the Unknown" AW24 Collection The Fourth Look revolves around the Fear of darkness, a fear that encompasses various dimensions: the tangible fear of obscurity, the dread of descending into a desolate mental state, and the fear of being alone. Nonetheless, this look embodies the notion of embracing darkness and discovering tranquility in solitude. It encapsulates the idea of finding peace with the darkness and deriving comfort from being alone. It echoes the timeless wisdom that even in the depths of darkness, the presence of light endures. Learned Skills: Advanced Creative Draping The most complicated part about this garment involved pinning drastically different fabrics together in a way that works, hand sewing them in place, and keeping that shape while machine sewing it. I experimented with various shapes and forms to get a final result that I'm proud of. The skirt itself also dealt with around 5 yards of Ponte, in which weight and wearability had to be taken into consideration. THE SANDS OF TIME "Echoes of the Unknown" AW24 Collection Look Three delves into the apprehension of time slipping away, a universal fear resonating in both professional domains and existential contemplations. Amidst our preoccupations with lost time, this look serves as a poignant commentary on mortality and the essence of our daily existence. It advocates for a shift in perspective, urging us to embrace the present moment and discover beauty in its fleeting presence, rather than fixating on the uncertainties of the past or future.
