25 years ago, I said “I do” to the woman I loved… but I don’t think I fully understood then just how much those two words would mean.

They meant doing life together. Growing together. Laughing together. Crying together. Raising two incredible kids who are now young adults in college. Walking through ministry together. Celebrating victories together. Praying through difficult seasons together.

We’ve seen some mountaintops, and we’ve walked through some valleys. We’ve experienced good days and hard days. We haven’t always gotten everything right, but through it all, we stayed. We stood by each other. We chose each other. And most importantly, God has been faithful to us.

Shana, you are so much more than my wife. You are my best friend. You’re the person I want beside me when life is amazing, and the person I want beside me when life gets hard. You’re the one I love laughing with, talking with, dreaming with, and sometimes doing absolutely nothing with.

My prayer isn’t simply that God gives us many more years together. My prayer is that by His grace, He continues shaping me into the husband you need and deserve.

25 years down…we’re just getting started!

Wow!!!! How fast time flies, but here we are. Today my beautiful babygirl @sydni.ruff is 21 years young! I love you and I celebrate you! Dad is so proud of you and the amazing young lady you have become and will continue to be. It is very evident and obvious that God’s hand is on your life and I’m excited to see His plans for you unfold. Continue to pursue God with all your heart and keep Him first. We celebrate Juneteenth to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. The holiday marks June 19, 1865, when Union General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that all enslaved people were free, over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued by President Abraham Lincoln. Well today @shanabruff and I moved the kiddos in to college. We are so excited for the both of them. @jacob.rufff is starting his freshman year at @usc_upstate as a student athletic. He will be continuing his track career on a collegiate level while majoring in Industrial Engineering. @sydni.ruff will begin her Sophomore year at @clemsonuniversity majoring in marketing and business. While I’m so excited and full of joy to celebrate this next season in their lives, it will take some time to adjust not having them at the house. Although they are not far at all, I’m still going to miss having them around like we have been so accustomed to. I’m so grateful for God and His continual faithfulness that we get to witness in the lives of our children. I pray for His Plans, His Purpose, His Protection, and His Provision for their lives to be upon them daily.
