Follow Danu, a transwoman who picked a terrible name for herself as she traverses the sissy, cissy world of wrestling, meets the people gunning and rooting for her, and tries to excel in the sport she’s always loved. SUPLEX finally explores “the Trans issue” in sports once and for all, and asks the question “Do you still care if it’s all fake anyway?” After the great success of HYPER (DFF 2023), playwright and director Ois O’Donoghue is back with another gripping, sharp, and deeply moving labour of love coming to you THIS SEPTEMBER 6-11th!!!! HOSTILE ARCHITECTURE | CORK INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL ⭐️ I’m thrilled to announce that HOSTILE ARCHITECTURE will be screening in competition for the Grand Prix Irish Short Award and the Best Cork Short Award at the 71st Cork International Film Festival. As a Cork woman, I’m so happy to be able to return to my home county to screen a film so near and dear to my heart. I came out as trans (and got into film) after moving to Dublin, so I feel quite emotional getting to share something so personal and truthful where I grew up. A @jaxbanded and @colettes.garage in association with @pinkeye_pictures and with support from @fingalartsoffice. I want to once again thank the cast and crew of HOSTILE ARCHITECTURE from the bottom of my heart, and I’d like to thank everyone who contributed to our fundraisers. Enjoy our first teaser for the film to celebrate this big news ❤️ Thank you to the @belfastfilmfestival team for this titillating blurb (and for screening our romance horror on Halloween! 🎃) — “As Dublin cannibalises itself out to private interests and shady corporations, two trans lovers find an unexpected solution to the Irish housing crisis. It may not be permanent, but it’ll do for the night. I’m so excited to reveal the poster for HOSTILE ARCHITECTURE, designed by our very own @townmice with a sexy, thrilling still straight from the film. “Without a place of their own, trans lovers Grace and Billy find intimacy in an extra-dimensional room; but just like the city outside, the room itself threatens to swallow them whole.” We’re in the final stages of post-production with support from Fingal County Council and we’re eager to begin our festival submissions. Keep an eye on my account for updates about the premiere and further screenings, and let us know which festivals near you we should share the film with! We’re so excited to release this film into the world. I’ve had an incredible creative journey this year from the shoot to these final weeks and I’m so grateful to every team member who’s made it happen.
