This weekend we wrapped my short film The Kosby Show! Words cannot express how much this film and this experience has meant to me. It’s an idea I had over 3 years ago and wrote during my first quarter at DePaul, and watching it evolve and change with me over the years has given it so much new meaning.

I’ve already said it a million times (and will say it more), but I cannot thank the cast and crew enough for making this dream a reality. @joaqthewalk was exactly the person I was looking for to bring this character to life, and brought things to the role better than I could’ve ever hoped. The teams led by @aidenesci , @kjames_ervin, @anna.manzella_, and @jake_hensley07 put in so much work and created something truly magical. So many people on set contributed ideas that have become my favorites aspects of the film.

The greatest thing you can do as a director is surround yourself with the right people, and I definitely did. Thank you all for making this the best weekend ever! I can’t wait for everyone to see the end result. by @jaxson_hall

What an absolutely blast! A huge shoutout to the cast and crew of The Kosby Show!! One of the most enjoyable and smooth experiences on set that I’ve had. And I’ve been on a lot of wonderful sets! Director @jaxson_hall was hugely collaborative and amazing to work with. I sincerely hope we were all able to bring his vision to life. I think this short will be hilarious and cringe in the best way possible. Be on the lookout this fall for the story of a coat-tailing standup comedian. I’ve been lucky enough to spend one year now with the absolute love of my life. @allscarr has changed my life in ways I can’t even begin to describe. We have had to spend over half this year doing long-distance, yet despite that she has shown me an unbelievable amount of love, care, support, and compassion.

I love you, Allie.

Working on The Director’s Cut has truly been one of the best experiences i’ve ever had. From writing it, pitching it, shooting it, and now getting to watch it on the big screen with the people I love most.

To Mrs. Smith and the judges that picked my film to be produced, thank you for giving me the opportunity to live out my dream. I love this story and this idea, and I can’t believe I was given the opportunity to tell it.

To my classmates at Moore Norman, thank you for working so hard to achieve my vision. It was only possible because of the hard work from each of you. Somehow in a week we were able to shoot 17 minutes, nearly double the length of the script. It wouldn’t be possible without the intense passion and effort you put into making it great.

To my INCREDIBLE actors, thank you for bringing these characters to life. There is no film without the care and love you brought to each role. I am so moved by these three performances, and you all made the set such a fun place to be.

Finally, to everyone who has supported me to this point, i owe you the sincerest thank you. I would not be doing this without the encouragement, love, and support that I have received from you all. This is evident by the TWENTY SEVEN people who came out to support me and see my film play at the Red Carpet Film Festival. Getting to watch this film at a festival with all the people that have encouraged me and aiding in making this dream a reality was truly the greatest night of my life. I’m very proud of what we made here. All I can say is thank you again. by @jaxson_hall
