GET BACK BRADLEY - a New Adult urban thriller

I often forget to check these, so I'm grateful that @bloomandpage.pr do it for me. It feels so good to see your book in double and single digits in categories where they are usually in the hundreds or thousands. It doesn't last long, but the feeling of satisfaction definitely does. As a Brit, it's really pleasing to know my books are being downloaded across the globe — even more so than at home.

My first book was published 2nd February 2024 and it already feels like a decade ago. I found purpose and peace when I became an author, and it really is my vocation. Sometimes I think that becoming disabled has it's advantages — I was forced into a career change and I love where it took me.

Mummy's Boy will be 1 years old on January 21st. 200+ of you ordered the free ebook last week. I look forward to your reviews.

It's finally here. A book written in memory of Fiona Holm and every other victim of domestic abuse that has led to femicide.

This book highlights the different types of domestic abuse women can experience, the manipulative behaviours of some men, the importance of friendship and support during challenging times, and just how dangerous it can be to sit and hope that things will get better.

I've been really pleased with the ARC reviews for this book. It wasn't easy to write but the message is important. I hope this novel acts as a supportive, educational aid for whoever may need it.

My journey as an indie author has been healing. I always knew I'd write a book some day, but it was becoming disabled due to Multiple Sclerosis, that finally accelerated the process. If I didn’t write, my life would be so empty. I've lost a lot, but I've gained a lot too, through creating stories that you enjoy reading.

I'm so grateful for the support I've received from readers, especially from Bookstagram. You are awesome. Your reviews are light in my world on even the darkest days.

I wrote and published prolifically 2024-2025. I knew there would be times when I was unable to write, so I made the most of the times that I could. These days, it takes me months to complete editing, in between fighting fatigue and getting assignments done for my Masters degree. Another novel is almost done, but I haven't set a release date.

I hope that you will continue to support my work, even if you have to wait a while.

I'm aiming to remove my books from Amazon by the end of the year, so make the most of KU while you can.

Thank you @bloomandpage.pr for a fantastic book tour. Your readers really highlighted the importance of this book. I was amazed by the edits, and blown away by the awesome reviews.

The tour coinciding with the media coverage of the Cornell abuse case made this book even more significant. Billy's abuse is entrenched in misogyny, and Katrina doesn't initially get the support she needs from those around her, but lessons are learned amongst friends.

Will society ever learn, and protect women from men like Billy?

📖: When Love Kills by @jay.word.author

A dark, emotional and disturbing read that genuinely felt like a reality check... that's what this book was for me.

I kinda expected it to be a dark thriller, but it turned out to be a story about love, manipulation and how easily a relationship can change without you even realising it.

In the start, Billy felt like a perfect man on paper... caring, attentive, generous and completely devoted to Katrina. And honestly, I understood why she fell for him.
But after they got married, things slowly started changing. What initially felt like love and care gradually became control, isolation and manipulation.

That's what I felt was the key part. Nothing was sudden. It all happened slowly, gradually. She kept making excuses, hoping things will go back to how they were, while slowly losing pieces of herself in the process. I knew what was gonna happen but still it felt soo frustrating and heartbreaking.

The book accurately showed that abuse isn't always obvious from the beginning. Sometimes it can hide behind affection, concern and promises of love, making someone feel trapped before they even realise what's happening. But most importantly, it reminds us that it's never too late to choose yourself.

TW: Domestic abuse, Emotional manipulation, Psychological abuse, Violence, Pregnancy-related trauma.

My Rating : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I want to take a moment to acknowledge the amount of research the author must have done while writing which is visible in every single sentence . The way she explored every single aspect , thoughts and question a reader might have while reading this story was genuinely commendable .

Katrina our main lead , thought one year was enough time limit to judge Billy . Just coming out of a toxic relationship and also having a strained family dynamic didn't help her case either . Affection starved Katrina fell for Billy's charms before she could even think of resisting . He said and did the perfect things and was never bad to her so why would she ? But as she got closer to marrying him she started noticing cracks in his perfect facade . But she kept brushing it off thinking she must have been overthinking because that's what us women are always taught isn't it ? That we are the problem ?
The way the author wrote Billy's subtle manipulation was everything . It was small so barely noticeable and just like Katrina's if we were in her position we would have thought as goodwill but was Billy's actually evil intentions at play to slowly isolate Katrina so that she had no way out .
Reading Billy's vile thoughts about women disgusted me but at the same time this was a wake up call because it's exactly how many men thinks like . These monsters might be walking right amongst us and we would never know how unsafe we are .

The author has done a great job in writing a deeply layered story while depicting the horrors women have to face around the world . My heart goes out to all the survivors of DV and to all the victims who suffered and didn't receive justice yet . I think this story should be mandatory reading material for young women across the world to spread awareness and caution .
