Every light has its shadow…🌃

This city shines with cutting-edge architecture, a thriving entertainment industry and beautiful, successful people.
But there is a dark side:

-Society can be highly competitive from school to jobs to social life.
-Many people feel constant pressure to look perfect and fit in.
-pressure to consume -> financial pressure
-Beauty standards here are extremely strict and appearance matters a lot in daily life.
-Mental health issues and loneliness are on the rise.

The perfect image, success and the clean streets easily mask the quiet struggle of some people, but when you look beneath the surface, you see it. Every country has its pros&cons and this is simply an aspect that unfortunately often remains unspoken. I don’t mean to offend anyone by saying this, honestly deeply respect people with such immense discipline. I just wish everyone inner peace, whatever their values may be!

This royal palace is a real highlight of any visit to Seoul. As the largest of the five grand palaces, it stands out for its striking, symmetrical architecture. Its name translates as the „Palace of Radiant Happiness“ – and that’s precisely how I felt that day.

Good to know:
-Standard entry is 3,000 won (around 2€) for adults.
-Anyone wearing a traditional Korean „Hanbok“ gets in for free.
-Closed on Tuesdays!
