Soul Granny, Soul Granny… I’m strong because I’ve grown wiser and know you’re free from all sickness and pain, but I’m also weak because of the sudden big life adjustment that now has to be made. It’s only been a few hours but the world now seems brand new and foreign without you here with us. Although you weren’t my biological granny, you were definitely my Granny in spirit or what they call our “Soul Family” that God gift us with. From my earliest memories of being at least a 3yr old boy you were there and I was with you and from looking back on the old pictures even as a 1 or 2yr old you kept me. Remembering how Mary and Kendra taught me how to pray before I went to sleep every night. Remembering how when my Daddy had to go lay down and do his time, you kept me and fed me and when I forgot my shoes and came to you as a barefooted lil 4yr old Jordan you took me to the store that morning and put some shoes on my feet and you didn’t have a lot of money and that’s what made it hit different. The best cook I’ve ever known and a fried chicken recipe that I wish the world could’ve tasted, and my greatest cook inspiration. I’m glad that you fixed me and you that good sausage and biscuit a few months ago and we got to laugh and talk for hours, and you had just called me over the other week to come get that hot water cornbread and corned beef w/ cabbage 😋. Watching them carry you tonight didn’t seem real but I know you’re not in pain no more. Thank you for the love, the care, the inspiration and the memories through all of the years and always bringing me into your home and counting me as one of the Grandboys. Love you forever! RIL to my Soul Granny Mrs. Laura Wyatt and the lady that inspired me to step into the kitchen. We’d have to run it back in another lifetime if The Most High say the same 🤲🏿😘🪽💕 by @jay_franchise
