It still doesn’t feel real, but I’m incredibly excited to officially start my journey as a zookeeper. This has been a dream of mine since I was a kid, and I’m beyond grateful for the chance to turn that dream into a reality.

I’m so thankful for everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way. A special thank you to my parents for always letting me dig holes all over the backyard to make “ponds” and steal rocks from the driveway and flowerbeds to build animal habitats (you didn’t know that, but you do now lol), and to the zoo crew at Emerald Coast Zoo the best people I could ask to work with who have given me this amazing opportunity to live out my childhood dreams!

I’m excited to learn, grow, and make the most of this next chapter while working alongside an incredible team and some pretty amazing animals. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.

Happy National Zookeeper Appreciation Week!! I’m still not over the fact that I somehow made it into the zookeeper club while still being close to home! I’m adding a lot to my already crazy busy schedule, but If that means doing what makes me the happiest Ive ever been then I guess Its all worth it!! by @jay_murray05

After surviving countless mental breakdowns , wild bus rides to football games, and pep rallies when something always went wrong … I’m officially leaving Florala High School for good! Thanks for the memories (and the excuses to skip class) ! #classof2025 #peaceout #memories taken in Florala High School by @jay_murray05
