Four new tracks you need to know! 👀

Episode 004 of Wrong Kinda Disco landed on Data Transmission Radio last Friday, and I’ve picked out a few of the tracks from the show to give you a little taste of what went down.

As always, you can expect a full hour of funky-inspired house music with tougher nods towards tech house along the way. This month’s show is packed with new music discoveries, chunky grooves and plenty of feel good energy.

Missed the live broadcast? No worries! You can catch the full episode now on Mixcloud, SoundCloud and YouTube - links in my bio.

Absolutely buzzing to finally be able to write this post… this July I’ll be playing at Itaca in Ibiza! ❤️

I’ll be joining the @funkmylife_events and @ignisbyfml crew for what’s set to be an epic weekender on the island.

If you happen to be in Ibiza between 3rd–6th July, come down, say hello and have a dance 🕺

Had a great time putting together a 30-minute guest mix for Paul Morrell’s show on Gaydio last Saturday!

If you missed it, head over to my stories for the link to listen back.

Big thanks to @paulmorrell for inviting me on and having me as part of the show! 🙌 by @jaybaldwindj

Alcester 10K – done! ✅

Some of you might not know, but back in 2020 I managed to make a pretty spectacular mess of my left knee, completely tearing both my MCL and PCL ligaments and needing some fairly serious surgery in 2021 to try and put things right.

What followed was around two years in the lovely leg brace you can see in the second pic, about the same amount of time on crutches, and quite a chunk of physio and rehab.

So being able to get out and run a 10K again today is something I’m pretty chuffed about. There was definitely a time when doing something like this felt a long way off!

Long may it continue. Roll on the next one! 💪 taken in Alcester, Warwickshire, United Kingdom by @jaybaldwindj

Honoured to be on the same lineup as these names for Decadence Christmas!

Saturday 5th December, Decadence will be taking over both Mama Roux’s & Club Colette in Birmingham for another of their massive end of year day parties across several arenas.

What a line up, cannot wait for this one. Tickets are available on Skiddle - follow the link in my bio for more information.

See you all down there! ❤️❤️ taken in Mama Roux's by @jaybaldwindj

Over 20 years old and this still sounds absolutely massive!

This was exactly the sort of house music I was playing around that time, and I love how much of that chunky, driving early-2000s sound you can still hear influencing records today.

Still club-ready in 2026 for me!!

Bit of an announcement…

After DJing and releasing music as James Baldwin, I’ve decided to make a small change for consistency’s sake. From now on, I’ll be DJing and releasing music under the name Jay Baldwin.

Things were just getting a bit messy across different platforms, with James Baldwin on Spotify, James Baldwin (UK) on Beatport and so on, so I wanted something cleaner and more consistent everywhere.

There’ll obviously be a bit of a crossover period while everything gets updated, and you might still see James Baldwin on some existing artwork, releases and gig listings for a little while. But going forward, it’s Jay Baldwin.

I’ve also got some really exciting new music coming soon on some brilliant labels, so keep them peeled for that! Can’t wait to share 👀

Much love! ❤️ by @jaybaldwindj

Loving this one - properly infectious bouncing bassline, loads of energy, straight into the box it goes. Out now on Toolroom Trax.

🇳🇱 ADE 2026 🇳🇱

I’ll be heading out to Amsterdam for ADE this year and I’m really looking forward to it. A few days of music, parties, catching up with people I already know and hopefully meeting plenty of new faces along the way.

There are so many events I’m hoping to get to while I’m there, I’ve definitely had to get the spreadsheet out to try and keep track of it all 😅

If you’re going to be out there too, give me a shout. Would be great to catch up for a beer and say hello. 🍻

See you in Amsterdam! taken in Amsterdam by @jaybaldwindj

Over 20 years old and I’m still playing it out!

Robbie Rivera - One Eye Shut, with the legend Mark Knight on remix duties. 🫡

That bassline is instantly recognisable, the vocal is class, and it still absolutely works in a set today. Proper timeless house music. Anyone else remember this one?
